Let me explain What we mean when we say the credit card company. We are not referring to you credit card company. As a Sinclair brand they control and process all of our credit card transactions. They are the credit card company we are referring too. Each credit card processor has their own set of rules and limits. Sinclair (every where) limit all visa pump transactions to $50.00 and $75.00 for master card transactions. This is also the reason we have difficulties with people believing their card has been charged twice. When you run your card at the pump a pre authorization is done. $100.00 if you only had $45.00 in your account then it pre authorizes for the whole $45.00. When you finish pumping one of two things can happen depending on your card type. The pre authorization charge on your account is changed to the $ amount you acctually pumped, or a second charge is placed on your account for the actual $ amount you pumped. In some cases the first charge(pre authorization) will be removed from your account in a matter of minutes making most customers never notice both charges. However it is possible that it could take up to 3-4 days for that first charge to be removed from your account and that money the released. I understand why that can be difficult for our customers and if we the owners of Hale’s oil had any way to change the policies for pump transactions we would. I tell each customer there’s two ways to get around these issues, use your Dino pay app and add your checking account or debit card through it. There is no limit and you can start the pump with the push of a button. The second option or only option if the Dino pay is not working(also a Sinclair controlled feature) is to come inside and pay. Dino pay will give you ten cents off a gallon or we have our loyalty card that will give you .10 cents off a gallon as well. Also don’t forget to take advantage of our free 32.0z fountain drink when filling up with $30.00 of gas or more! I apologize for the frustration that the Sinclair policies are causing everyone! -Savanah
