Fixing some coolant leaks and shut engine down light. Thank you station 11 for letting us working on yalls trucks. Also a sneak peak of the new to us service truck. Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

Customer was complaining of transmission temperature gauge inop. After performing diag found that the temperature sensor has failed. Replaced the temperature sensor while we had the pan off we did some preventive maintenance. Another customer back on the road. Thank you for the business and onto the next one.

We would like to extend to all customers, friends, and family a Happy Fourth of July. We hope your holiday is both enjoyable and safe. Here's an update on our current project. Recently, warm weather revealed an issue with a malfunctioning HVAC door that had failed, causing warm air to circulate on the driver's side. At Down South Performance LLC, we are dedicated to providing service and appreciate your understanding as we work tirelessly, seven days a week, to ensure all vehicles are returned to service as quickly as possible.

We have been very busy lately. I wanted to take a moment to say thank all the fire departments that have trusted Down South Performance LLC to keep their fire trucks on the road. A lot of people don’t realize that these first responder vehicles are the most important vehicles on the road. Thank you to all first responders for keeping our community safe and being there when we need you. Personally, words can’t describe how honored I am to be able to help out and keep these trucks on the road. If it’s service or in-depth work, we have you covered. Again, thank you for the opportunity and as always on to the next one.

Down South Performance LLC is a specialized diesel repair shop. Service hours are evenings and Saturdays by appointment only.

Our goal is to complete jobs as quickly and efficiently as possible. Service delays often stem from unforeseen issues discovered on other customers vehicles and our single-person operation with one lift limiting simultaneous vehicle accommodations.

As we moved into the New Year we are making some changes to help balance the high demands we have seen over the past few months.

Effective March 1, 2026:
-To better centralize our schedules and service all business communication will be handled through Down South Performance LLC phone which is 252-515-4721. Voicemails and text messages will be returned as soon as possible.

-Diesel repairs only, with a focus on large-scale projects. We will not be scheduling service for gas vehicles.

-Parts will be prepaid, no customer supplied parts. No exceptions.

-Cancelled appointments by the customer will be moved to the next available service date.

-Invoice must be paid if full with in one week of vehicle being completed. After a week there will be a storage fee and percentage fee for parts and labor. Also no vehicle can be picked up till invoice is paid in full.

We express our deepest gratitude to Hardison's Tire for entrusting us with working on their vehicle. When approached to install a turbo actuator on a Cummins engine, we accepted the challenge without hesitation. We worked diligently overnight to minimize downtime and promptly returned the vehicle to service. We value their business and highly recommend Hardison’s Tire for all towing and maintenance needs. As always, we remain prepared to take on the next challenge.

Customer was complaining about oil leaks on a 6.4 Powerstroke. Discovered multiple leaks emanating from the turbo drain, valve cover, and front timing cover. Upon removal of the oil pump, a scratch was found on the cover, necessitating replacement of both the cover and oil pump. Successfully resealed the top end of the motor and a new front cover and oil pump. Appreciate the business and looking forward to the next project!
