Yes, we still do daily driver repairs. This one has us stumped for a little bit.

2018 GMC Sierra, customer states it "acted up" after hitting bumps, dashboard would light up like a Christmas tree. Then, it went into limp mode leaving him on the side of the road. Shut it off and that was the end that, it wouldn't fire back up.

We brought it in this morning, and started digging. No crank, no start, no communication with ABS, ECM, TCM. All fuses good, all grounds cleaned.... Now what???

After a few hours we found it. Barely noticable, right above the driver's side rear cab mount. The wiring harness has a 6-8" area that is NOT covered by plastic looming. It was only wrapped with cloth style wire wrap. The cab has a small spot of rust that just happens to be directly above the wiring harness. I decided to open the wrap up and take a look... Yep! The rust rubbed a hole through the wrap, and one of the wires. The wire happens to be the "can bus" (network cable) wire. It was shorted out to the body... 1 20 gauge wire shut this truck completely down!

When it came in, 1 complaint was it wouldn't do a burn out.... That, has been fixed! Haven't marked up LaGrave Ave for so long, love that Pontiac torque!

Sooo.... Wonder how far technology and cylinder head design has come.... Here's a comparison of Champion aftermarket "high buck" 1987 3.8 liter Turbo Buick heads compared to bone stock 2014 LV3 4.3 heads.... Holy ports Batman!!! Valve sizes are almost the same though.
