Not all decontaminations are created equal
Between mechanical decon (claying, pic 1) and chemical (iron remover, pics 2+3); you can see just how much gunk was pulled from the paint on this International Scout 2 prior to paint correction. [*The car was washed prior to either process]
Claying pulls embedded contaminants (that give a sandpaper feel) from the paint , while iron remover chemically breaks down embedded iron particles, turning them purple in the process.
Just imagine what the polishing pad picks up during the paint correction if the vehicle isn't properly decontaminated beforehand.
