We are starting to plan for Winter Snowmobile Season here at On The Trail Outfitters. We are currently looking for Office Staff, Experienced Snowmobilers, Guides, and Utility Players for the winter season. Housing is available (no smoking, no pets). Employment dates will be approximately December 15, 2026 - April 1, 2027.

The snow has cleared, all the gates are swung, and the incredible UTV trails across the Arapaho National Forest are open for the season! 🌲☀️

What a start to the season! 🌲✨ We had an amazing turnout for opening weekend at On The Trail Outfitters. The mountain air was perfect, and our new 2026 Polaris RZR XP 1000s got a great workout.

2026 Summer Season Update:

Drier weather and low snow totals form the winter are helping us get ready for summer. 🌲☀️

We are predicting and early start around Memorial Day weekend (May 23rd). Normally June 15th to allow the Forest Service to allow snow to melt and trails to get cleared.

Currently our reservation system is open for mid June and when our New 2026 Polaris RZR XP 1000s arrive we will open up the rest of our Calendar.

** New for 2026 ** Guided Tours daily 9am-11am. Get out early and enjoy the crisp mountain air.

❄️ CLOSURE UPDATE ❄️
To all our fellow sled heads, we are hitting the pause button on rentals! While we love seeing you on the trails, current snow totals just aren't giving us that snowmobile experience we want for you.🌲

We are watching the forecast closely. Several warm sunny days ahead which will impact us greatly. We also know that spring storms can be amazing and get us back up and running.

We will be closed for Rentals and Guided Tours on Tuesday March 3rd. We do have a reservationist answering phones from 8am-4pm

Get out and ride. 10”- 30” of new snow depending on what part of the mountain you are on.

❄️ Winter just made a serious comeback in Grand Lake, Colorado.

After a slow start to the season, the snow finally showed up and we’re talking feet, not inches. Upper elevations picked up easily a foot overnight, with some areas pushing closer to two feet of fresh when you factor in wind drifts and the last storm. The Grand Lake Trailgroomers, Inc. were out through the night packing Kawuneeche Road from Idleglen to Chicken Hill, building base on Kawuneeche to “D,” and working sections of Pony Park, Stillwater, Gravel, and Supply.

If low snow totals had you waiting to plan your Grand Lake winter trip, this is your sign. Snow is stacking, trails are coming together, and that quiet west side Rocky Mountain National Park magic is back.

Winter lives here. ❄️

Rentals and Guided Tours have been ramping up over the last couple of weeks. It looks like the week ahead should be a good one for more much needed snow. Come up and ride Grand Lake.
