We got this phone call this morning: Is a frame chop worth it? 🪓

The real question is: how do you wheel your Jeep? What kind of trails and obstacles are you actually trying to clear?

On a JL Rubicon with 35s, our Aluminum Adventure Series bumper gets you to about 53° of approach with no frame chop—only a couple degrees behind most frame chops on the market. For a daily-driven rig that still sees hard trails, that’s a killer setup.

If you live on big ledges and rated 8+ trails, that’s where our Frame Chop Front Bumper shines. A 3" chop bumps you to around 61°, and our 5" chop can push things into the mid-60° range. That extra clearance is a big deal when you’re trying not to drag nose on the nastier lines.

Adding bigger tires and a lift? You'll gain even more than that.

I love my frame chop for the serious stuff—but I’d happily throw an Aluminum Adventure Series on my next project too.
