First generation Pontiac Firebirds held a special place at Wagner Garage. Story time. I bought my first car at 15. It was a Verdo Green 1968 Pontiac Firebird convertible. Black deluxe interior with a white convertible top. It was equipped with a 400 cu inch engine and turbo 400 automatic transmission. My parents gave me my last payment on my 16 birthday. Oddly enough my wife to be also purchased her first car a 1968 Pontiac Firebird. Strangely enough it was also a Verdo Green formula 400 coupe with deluxe green interior. She worked 3 part time jobs to pay for it. One of those jobs was Sirloin Stockade. That is where we met. Both of us terrorized the steets of Grand Junction with those cars. I sold mine to buy the Bug eye. Nancy kept hers till after we got married. We sold it for a down payment on our first home. I envy people who have managed to keep their first cars through all of the changes of life. Tell me if you’re one of those lucky people .

We would encourage young adults to get involved in the car hobby. My sister-in-law‘s grandson allowed me to help him make cosmetic modifications to his Mustang GT.

This was a very special car to visit the shop. It is a 2002 Porsche 911 GT2. It is one of 184 units sold in the United States. It had the nickname, Widowmaker. The vehicle was basically a race car with license plates. It had no ABS or traction control. The engine is a twin turbo 3.6 L flat six putting out just under 500 hp. It demanded your full attention.
