Powerline Construction Equipment Mechanic
Overview
• We’re looking for a skilled Equipment Mechanic to support our powerline construction fleet. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain digger derricks, bucket trucks, tensioners, pullers, and other specialty equipment that keeps our crew safe and productive.
Key Responsibilities
• Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on powerline construction equipment
• Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on digger derricks, bucket trucks, boom trucks, and hydraulic tools
• Complete routine services (oil changes, brakes, hydraulics, tires, suspension, etc.)
• Fabricate or modify parts when needed (welding, cutting, fabrication)
• Maintain hydraulic systems, PTOs, winches, outriggers, and aerial devices
• Keep accurate service logs and repair documentation
Required Experience
• Experience as a heavy equipment, diesel, or fleet mechanic
• Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting abilities
• Ability to read schematics and service manuals
• Experience with hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
• CDL equipment familiarity is a plus
• Able to lift heavy components and work in field conditions
• Strong communication skills
• We will train the right candidate with solid mechanical experience who wants to learn powerline-specific equipment.
