It is important to periodically clean and l**e your restored Quadrajet's finish if you want it to last awhile. I removed my Z28 carb and sprayed it down with gumout carb cleaner aerosol, removing all the stuck on pollen, road grime, bug parts and varnish. I let it dry and then shot it with WD-40 all over. Let it sit a few minutes to soak it in, then wipe with a few paper towels. Clean as a whistle, and resistant as can be to white oxidation dust formation. A little preventive maintenance goes a LONG ways,

Here is a 1969 Pontiac 400 428 4 speed Quadrajet, number 7029263....rebuilt and restored by Everyday Performance LLC. There is no paint on this carburetor, it has been refinished with Zinc Chromate (electroplating). Stock calibration.
