Customer complaint, car stalled on the highway. Gas under car. Was towed to the shop. Found the line circled was not connected and you can see the ring that holds the pump in is barley on the pump.
This is a classic case of "I can get it done cheaper"

So there is a bad review going around about our shop. Very sorry for this. But we are running short staffed right now and longer turn around times are expected.
So with this being said. We will be running on an appointment only set up for the next couple of months. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Understanding Engine Combustion: Normal vs. Detonation

The image depicts the combustion process within an internal combustion engine, comparing normal combustion to detonation. In normal combustion, the spark plug ignites the air-fuel mixture, resulting in a controlled flame front that propagates through the combustion chamber. In detonation, the flame front becomes unstable and travels at supersonic speeds, causing a shockwave that can damage the engine.

Key Points:

* Normal Combustion:
* Controlled flame front propagates from the spark plug.
* Smooth and efficient energy release.
* No significant engine damage.
* Detonation:
* Uncontrolled flame front travels at supersonic speeds.
* Creates a shockwave that can damage engine components.
* Often caused by factors like low-quality fuel, high compression ratios, or excessive engine load.

Preventing Detonation:

* Use high-quality fuel: Fuels with higher octane ratings are less prone to detonation.
* Maintain proper engine maintenance: Regular tune-ups and adjustments can help prevent detonation.
* Avoid excessive engine loads: Driving aggressively or towing heavy loads can increase the risk of detonation.
* Consider engine modifications: Some modifications, such as retarding the ignition timing, can help reduce the likelihood of detonation.

Conclusion:

Understanding the difference between normal combustion and detonation is crucial for maintaining engine health and performance. By taking steps to prevent detonation, you can ensure that your engine operates efficiently and reliably.
