🛠️ Slide Service — Prevent Problems Before They Become Expensive!

Your RV slides do a lot of work every time they move, and a little preventative maintenance can save you a LOT of money down the road.

Our Slide Service includes:

âś… Cleaning the slide seals
Checking top and bottom seals
âś… Cleaning the slide troughs
Checking the Q rubber
âś… Lubricating the slide system
And the rollers
âś… Checking slide operation
âś… Inspecting shims
âś… If your slides does not have shims, we inspect the shaft, bolts, and motor
âś… Checking the operation of both newer and older-style slide systems
âś… Inspecting for small problems before they turn into major repairs

Our service covers four slides. If your coach has fewer than four slides we can take care of those also.

We commonly find problems during slide services that were only a few dollars to fix when caught early. If those same problems had went unnoticed, they can turn into repairs costing hundreds or even thousands of dollars.

That’s the whole point of annual slide service — find the little problems before they become big ones.

Protect your investment. Keep those slides moving properly!

ANNUAL RV ROOF INSPECTIONS — YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU’LL FIND!

This is exactly why we recommend having your RV roof inspected at least once a year. You may not see a problem from the ground, but a closer inspection can reveal damage that could eventually lead to a much bigger—and much more expensive—problem.

This customer’s coach had a branch fall on it 18 months ago. He told us that a tree branch had fallen on top of the coach near the couch. At the time, there were no obvious signs of damage.

Fast-forward about 18 months, and the customer started noticing some brown discoloration along the side of the T-molding on the roof.

When we inspected it closely, we found several small punctures in the fiberglass that had been caused by the branch. Over time, weather and water had found those tiny openings and were making their way into the coach and down into the couch area.

We’re not fiberglass repair specialists, so this is not a permanent fiberglass repair. But the customer was in the middle of a road trip and needed a temporary solution to keep the water out until he could get to a fiberglass shop.

We cleaned and sealed the punctures using epoxy glue, then painted over the repair to provide additional protection.

It’s a temporary repair—not a replacement for professional fiberglass work—but it should help keep him on the road and protect the coach until the permanent repair can be completed.

The lesson? Don’t wait until you see water inside your RV.

A small puncture that looks like nothing today can become a major water intrusion problem months later.

👉 Get that roof inspected annually. You never know what you’re going to find!

Always check the top of your RV windows for proper sealant! đź‘€

Sealant can break loose, develop voids, or simply not be sealed properly from the factory. The same thing can happen when a window has been replaced and isn’t sealed correctly.

In this video, we’ll show you exactly what a void in the sealant looks like and why it matters. That small gap can allow water to seep in around the window frame and potentially lead to much bigger problems.

Don’t overlook the windows during your next RV inspection!

Don’t Overlook the Awning Cap Rail

In today’s video, we’re showing you the patio awning cap rail—that edge piece along the side of the coach that is easy to overlook during a roof reseal.

If this cap rail cracks, it can allow water to get behind the seal and into areas you thought were already protected. Even with a good roof reseal, this is one of those spots that can be missed.

We’re showing you exactly where it’s located and what it looks like when it cracks.

Check the details. Catch the crack before it becomes a leak.

A LITTLE SCHWINTEK SLIDE observations from the

We’re showing a little more of what we see here at Precision RV Repair when it comes to Schwintek slides — including what can happen when that slide button gets held way too long or the system is operated incorrectly.

These slides have two motors that have to work together and stay synchronized. When something gets out of sync, you can start seeing the slide move unevenly, bind, stop, or throw an error.

And here’s another thing we’re seeing more and more:

Parts aren’t always an overnight deal anymore.

Some of the parts we need to repair these systems are requiring us to order 2–3 weeks ahead of time. That means if your slide is starting to act up, it’s a whole lot better to get it checked BEFORE you’re sitting at the campground with a slide that won’t move.

That’s one of the reasons we’re trying to show you guys these repairs as they happen — so you can see what’s going on and understand why we recommend taking care of a small problem before it turns into a big one.

We’ll keep showing you the good, the bad and the ugly from the shop.
