Sometimes it’s the little things in life that bring us the most happiness.

This watermelon was actually the product of someone spitting out a seed. Somehow, produced a watermelon! we’ve been watching over the past month to see if anything would come out of it. Well 🍉😂 We cut it today, and it was absolutely amazing.

And it got me thinking…

Sometimes in life, we miss the small things. We get so caught up in being busy, dealing with the bad stuff, going through health situations, family situations, financial situations, or whatever else life throws at us that we forget to stop and notice the little blessings right in front of us.

Take the small wins.
Enjoy the little blessings.
Be thankful for the things we sometimes overlook.

There is so much more to life than the situations we are going through. Sometimes, it really is all about perspective.

A quarter isn’t very big… unless you put it right in front of your eyes. Then suddenly, that’s all you can see.

And remember: the sinking of the Titanic was a miracle to the lobsters in the kitchen. 😂🦞

Take a moment today to be thankful for the small things. Don’t let the big problems make you miss the little blessings.

We’re just showing you how we take a call for a roof seal on a 2010 Tiffin Phaeton. We wanted to share a few tips and pointers on what we like to look for, what we use, and how we go about doing it.

Just a little example of what we do here at Precision RV Repair. We’re not trying to make anyone a professional roofer—just putting out some information to help the RV community.

⚠️ One big warning: Be careful when working around the roof seal and trim. Some of the materials and edges can be extremely sharp, and you can cut your leg, arm, or hand pretty badly.

🐭 A LITTLE MOUSE CAN CAUSE A LOT OF TROUBLE!

People ask us all the time, “How do you mouse-proof a coach?” Honestly, I don’t think there’s any way to completely guarantee it.

You just have to be proactive with traps and natural deterrents.

And here’s why it’s so important…

This little mouse caused a LOT of damage. Spyder wires, accent lights, sconce lights — all of these were located underneath the bed.

Everywhere you see here was a connection that had been chewed by a mouse and had to be repaired.

A small mouse can create a BIG repair bill! 🐭🔧

In this video, we’re showing the top backside of the fascia on a 2020 Tiffin RED.

There is a void in the caulking where the “F” molding/bracket molding attaches to the slide ceiling. This is the piece that allows the fascia to be screwed into place.

That small void may not look like much, but it can give water an easy path to infiltrate the slide ceiling and cause damage.

We show you the repair mid-process, including how we apply the caulking to properly seal this area and help stop water intrusion.

This is one of those areas that can easily be overlooked during a roof or slide inspection.

And this can be an issue in other models also.

In this video, we’re looking at a 2024 Tiffin Bus where the passenger-side mirror arm had become loose.

We show you what caused the problem and how we repaired it. Tiffin used to secure these mirror arms with bolts, but on this coach, the newer setup uses screws that go directly through the fiberglass. In this case, we were able to tighten the upper screw, but the lower screw had actually broken.

The customer had just returned from Alaska and had traveled some extremely rough roads, which can put a tremendous amount of stress on these mirror mounts.

This is a good example of why it’s important to check your mirror mounts and other exterior components after traveling rough roads. A small amount of movement can turn into a much bigger problem if it’s not caught early.

Today we’re showing you something we commonly see on the roof of a 2017 Red.

On these vent pipes, Tiffin generally used this setup on coaches ranging from the Open Road up through the Zephyr. Instead of using CSL around the vent pipes, they used Dicor sealant.

We’re not exactly sure why this was their manufacturing method—there may be a specific reason behind it—but when we do a complete roof reseal, one of the things we do is remove the Dicor and replace it with white self-leveling CSL.

Why?

In our experience, the CSL holds up tremendously better. It sets up, stays sealed, and doesn’t have the same tendency to crack and deteriorate.

We’ve even seen Dicor that could still be pulled up 8 or 9 years later.

This is just how we do it at Precision RV Repair based on what we’ve seen over the years. We’re showing you what we find and what we recommend when we’re resealing a roof.

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT CAULK TODAY! 👀

Today we’re taking a look at skylights, caulk, and the right way to deal with old caulk.

We’ll show you some examples of what we recommend, what we DON’T recommend, and why simply putting new caulk on top of old caulk isn’t always the best answer.

Sometimes the best repair is to take the time to scrape the old caulk completely off, all the way down to the fiberglass, and start fresh. It takes a little more time, but getting the surface clean and properly prepared can make a big difference in the finished repair.

As always, this is just our opinion and the way we do it at Precision RV Repair. We’re showing you what we see in the field and what works for us.
