Hail round TWO!
If you have hail damage, contact your insurance company and file a claim (what we’re seeing is definitely worth turning in a claim).
GET INSTRUCTIONS FROM YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY BEFORE GETTING AN ESTIMATE. Most are writing their own. Let them know you’d like us to do your repairs. If they’ll allow us to write the estimate, I’ll need your claim number and exactly where to send your estimate so it gets processed properly.
Each insurance company is doing things differently, and many have hired third parties to get these estimates written.
Lastly, our advice is to not keep the insurance check for your hail damage. I know it’s tempting, but if it doesn’t get repaired, and you damage your car again, or worse, total your car, that money they paid out will get deducted from what they pay you. We’ve seen it happen many times, often leaving people owing money to their lender, even with gap insurance.
