A few facts that even some Kansans (or Jayhawkers) don't know:

*An average of 50 tornadoes a yr rip through Kansas
*A famous tornado is from the hit movie "The Wizard of OZ" whose Dorothy Gale hails from Kansas.
* Kansas is officially nicknamed the Sunflower state
*Kansas isn’t just at the heart of Tornado Alley, it’s also at the heart of the Wheat Belt! The state produces so much wheat per year that if you baked it into bread, it could feed the entire world for two weeks. That’s approximately 36 billion loaves of bread!
*It’s completely illegal to hunt whales in Kansas. In years past, it was against the law to provide ice cream on top of cherry pie when served.

Comet Tsuchinshan, visible to the naked eye and Rachel's new iphone. Granted, you have to look close but just as promised it appeared in the western sky, just to the right of Venus.
The brightest comet in the last 13 years, this one has grown a beautiful cometary tail, already 21* long-42 times the size of the Full moon's disk.
Don't miss this opportunity to see this uniquely bright comet for the next few days.
