Classic Restorations continues work on this 1976 Toyota Land Cruiser which is from up around Leflore County in Mississippi. We are doing a full restoration on the vehicle which looks a bit rough but is really in good shape, having been under cover and out of the direct weather for most of its life. We are having the axle assemblies and entire drivetrain inspected and rebuilt as necessary. We will media blast all the body and frame.

Classic Restorations does very little work on more modern vehicles. We specialize in older vehicles. We do even less work on toy vehicles, such as this antique John Deere tractor. But never say never. One day, while delivering a vehicle we had worked on—in fact, this was maintenance on the very FIRST vehicle we ever worked on, back in 2008 - we saw this JD tractor. The owner said he was having trouble removing the chain cover to see what caused the immobility problem. We volunteered to take it help effect a fix. Since we are in the 'restoration biz' and this JD Tractor was owned by the most loyal of customers, we went ahead and really freshened up. It should offer much fun for the grandkids, great grandkids, etc and etc.

The actual job of spray painting these old classic cars is just a small percentage of the total effort of the actual entire job. Spraying the paint onto the vehicle may be only 1% of the total effort needed to do a good job. Many of these special and rare old vehicles need a paint job taken to a high standard. Here a 1974 Ford Bronco and a 1966 Ford Mustang are seen with paint prep continuing.

Work is continuing on the restoration of this 1976 Toyota Land Cruiser. Classic Restorations is dismantling the vehicle and perforning a full restoration. The front and rear end/differentials will be pulled and inspected, along with the transmission and transfer case to see if a rebuild is necessary. The engine has previously been rebuilt but will be pulled so it can be detailed and painted along with the entire engine compartment. Since the 1940s, Toyota has built more than 10 million Land Cruisers, their best-selling model and consistently the best selllng vehilce in Australia for many years.

This 1976 Toyota Land Cruiser hails from the Mississippi Delta. The owners have owned it for many decades. It is a pristine, stock vehicle. It has always been stored under cover and because of that is in pretty good shape. Classic Restorations plans to do a complete restoration on the vehicle. The Japanese military had captured a US Willys Bantam MB Jeep early in the Philippines during WWII. They shipped it to Toyota in Japan and asked that they make a similar 4 wheel drive vehicle but that it should not look like the Jeep. The result was one of the first Land Cruisers, them known as the AK. It was initially commercially called a 'Toyota Jeep' until Jeep sued for copyright/name infringement.The 'Land Rover' name was already taken so it became 'Land Cruiser'. From that start and through the years Toyota has built (through 2019) 10 Million(!) Land Cruisers and they are still building them today. The older models are highly popular, in demand and command high prices.
