Ohio just got a whole lot creepier tonight... 🌊🐟💀

Reports of a massive sturgeon moving through the Ohio River have people across the Buckeye State staring at the water a little longer than usual.

This prehistoric species existed long before highways, football stadiums, and even the state of Ohio itself... and now one of these armored river giants is reminding everybody that the river still keeps secrets.

From the foggy banks near Cincinnati... to the industrial stretches around Cleveland and Toledo... Ohio waterways have always had that strange “something lurking underneath” energy.

Meanwhile every fisherman, kayaker, and dude with a pontoon boat suddenly squinting at random splashes like:

“Yeah… I’m staying on shore tonight.”

Ohio really said:
cornfields above...
river dinosaurs below. 😭

Welcome to the Buckeye State — where the weather is unpredictable, the highways are chaos, and apparently the ancient creatures are still clocking in for night shifts.

Update: Road is back open and power is restored to all customers.

Thank you to Athens County EMS, Athens County Sheriff, Ohio State Highway patrol and Glouster Water and Electric who all responded to the scene and then restored power to the area.

Also thanks to Athens County 911 who dispatched everyone to the scene.

Thankfully noone was injured in the crash.

Power is out on some portions of Walnut Hill. City employees are currently working to replace a pole that was damaged by a vehicle accident on Walnut Hill Road and road is closed until the repairs can be completed.

Update: 9675 feet of hose was tested with just over 800 feet failing to pass test, most of the failures were just weeping hose, failure of inner liner, however we did have a section of 1 3/4" pull from coupling on pressure testing, could have been catastrophic on fireground.

Long day of Annual Hose Testing and ground ladder testing for the department, started at 8:00 AM finished at around 7:00 PM.

Big thank you to Trimble High School for allowing us to use their parking lot for the hose testing.

Also thanks to Robert Marchsl of maximum pressure hose testing and his entire crew for coming and doing the testing. Definitely recommend them if you need your hose and ladders tested.
