Up for sale is a very original, period correct, documented 3rd owner Chevelle SS. This car has spent 100% of its life in rural Iowa. The 2nd owner purchased the car from Hughes Motors in Council Bluffs, Iowa in October of 1967 and owned until I purchased the vehicle from him in 2022.

It has documented paperwork proving the ownership, maintenance, engine specs, and mileage. All original body panels, with one repaint to original color in the 90’s. Interior is all original, and shows extremely well for the age.

Engine is a built L-88 427 sold new from Bob Brown in 1970.

Transmission is the original Turbo 400 with an aggressive shift kit.

Beautiful older restoration performed on a true numbers matching engine, 138 VIN, Bolero Red, Black imitation leather Chevelle.

Prior to our owning, the previous owner had removed the original running stock 396 engine, and had it replaced with a new crate 450hp 454 Big Block from Karl Performance, in Des Moines, IA. Along with that, conveniences of aftermarket air conditioning, fuel injection and an upgraded bluetooth stereo were added, too. The story goes that the original engine didn't have enough power for his likings, so receipts of $15k+ prove that a new crate motor and upgrades were made. Since our ownership, we've upgraded the rear end to 3.73 gears and removed the fuel injection.

When the weather's nice, we've put quite a few round trips of decent miles on this Chevelle over the last few years. It's dependable, loud, fast and fun. Drives straight, stops straight, and will set you back in your seat through all 4 gears.

The original engine is in a crate and complete with engine stamps easily viewable, and included in the sale.
