When you're planning a summer road trip, you're probably thinking about the destination, the playlist, the snacks. We get it — that's the fun part.

But we also want you thinking about your brakes.

Long highway miles, unfamiliar roads, sudden stops in traffic — summer driving asks a lot of your braking system. And if your pads are getting thin or your rotors are worn, you want to know before you're 300 miles from home.

Joe and the team at J.E.R.S. Automotive will do a thorough brake inspection and give you the complete picture — what's good, what needs attention now, and what can wait. We've never believed in recommending work that doesn't need to be done. That's just not who we are.

Your family's safety on the road means everything. Let's make sure you're set before summer really gets going.

One of the most preventable road trip disasters is also one of the most common: an overheating engine.

It happens fast — temperature gauge spikes, you pull over, steam coming from under the hood. What usually started it? Low or old coolant that couldn't do its job in the summer heat.

Before your family loads up the car this summer, let us check your cooling system and all fluid levels. It takes very little time and can save you from a very stressful roadside situation. Joe and our team look at coolant condition, radiator health, hoses, thermostat, and every fluid your car depends on.

We've been taking care of cars — and the families who depend on them — since 2009. That's not going to change. Come see us before you hit the road.

We don't really talk about car AC until it stops working — and when it does, it's usually 90 degrees outside and you're stuck in traffic. We've all been there.

The good news is that most AC problems give you warning signs before they become a full breakdown: warm air when it should be cold, weak airflow, strange smells when you first turn it on. Those are your car's way of saying "hey, I need some attention."

At J.E.R.S. Automotive, we check your AC system as part of our seasonal service — and if something's off, Joe will walk you through exactly what's going on and what it takes to fix it. No surprises. No overselling.

Whether you drive a gas car, a hybrid, or an EV, we've got the expertise to handle it. Beat the heat this summer — give us a call or book online.

Here's something a lot of drivers don't realize: summer heat actually causes tire pressure to rise — and then drop as temperatures swing — making proper inflation more critical than ever during the warm months.

Tires are your car's only contact with the road. When they're underinflated, overinflated, or worn unevenly, the risk of a blowout goes up significantly — especially on long highway drives with a full car.

Joe and the team at J.E.R.S. Automotive want to make sure you're rolling safely this summer. We check tire pressure, tread depth, and wear patterns as part of our routine service — and we'll always give you a straight answer about what we find, no pressure, no upselling.

If you haven't had your tires looked at lately, now's the perfect time. Stop in or schedule an appointment before your summer travel begins.

Summer road trip season is here — and the last thing any of us wants is to be stranded on the side of the highway with a car full of kids, luggage, and melting snacks. 🚗

Before you hit the road, let Joe and our team at J.E.R.S. Automotive give your vehicle a thorough once-over. We check everything that matters — brakes, tires, belts, hoses, fluids, your air conditioning — because we know how much you're counting on your car to get your family there and back safely.

We've been part of the Glenview community since 2009, and after 900+ five-star reviews, one thing hasn't changed: we treat every car like it belongs to someone we care about. Because it does.

Book your pre-road-trip inspection before your big trip this summer. We'd love to help make sure your journey is a smooth one.

There's nothing like the excitement of a summer road trip, the bags packed, the playlist ready, everyone piled into the car. The last thing you want is for that excitement to turn into a stressful breakdown two hours from home.

Before you hit the road this summer, take a few minutes, or better yet, let us take a few minutes, to check the things that matter most: tire tread and pressure, coolant and fluid levels, your battery's actual health, your brakes, and your wiper blades for those sudden summer storms.

We've helped so many Glenview families get their cars road trip ready over the years, and there's real peace of mind in knowing your car is solid before you're hours from the nearest shop you trust.

Wherever your summer takes you, we want to help you get there safely.

Most of us have been trained to think of dead batteries as a winter problem. Cold mornings, slow cranks, jump starts in the driveway.

But here's the truth: extreme summer heat is actually harder on your battery than winter cold. The heat accelerates corrosion and evaporates the fluid inside faster, which means a battery that seemed perfectly healthy back in the spring can fail without any warning in the middle of July, often at the worst possible moment.

If your battery is a few years old, don't wait for it to leave you stranded in a parking lot on the hottest day of the year. A quick test at our shop can tell you exactly where it stands.

We've been the trusted name for honest car care here in Glenview since 2009, and looking out for these easy-to-miss issues before they become emergencies is just part of how we take care of our neighbors.

🎆 Happy 4th of July from our family at J.E.R.S. Automotive! 🎆

There's something special about this holiday. It's a day to slow down, gather with the people we love, and take a moment to appreciate just how far we've come — as a country, and as a small business.

We opened our doors back in 2009 with one simple goal: treat every customer like family and never recommend work that isn't needed. Sixteen years later, that goal hasn't changed one bit. What has changed is the incredible community of neighbors from Glenview, Northbrook, Skokie, and Morton Grove who've trusted us along the way, and we don't take that for granted.

We're closed today so our team can be home with their families, but we'll be back Monday and ready to help with whatever your car needs. In the meantime, wishing you a holiday filled with good company, great food, and safe travels — wherever the day takes you.

Happy, safe, and proud Independence Day from all of us.

One of the scariest moments for any driver is watching that temperature gauge creep toward the red on a hot summer day. Knowing what to do in that moment can be the difference between a simple fix and a very expensive one.

If you see steam or smoke from under the hood, smell something sweet in the cabin, or notice your car losing power, don't push through it hoping to make it home. Pull over somewhere safe, turn off the engine, and let it cool down completely before you even think about opening the hood, that radiator cap can cause a serious burn if it's still hot.

Driving even a few more minutes on an overheating engine can turn a small coolant issue into major, sometimes irreversible engine damage.

We want every family in Glenview and the North Shore to feel confident behind the wheel this summer, and that starts with knowing the warning signs before they become an emergency.

Here's something a lot of drivers don't think about until it's too late: your tire pressure actually changes with the weather, and summer heat pushes it up, not down.

As the air inside your tires warms, it expands, and before you know it you could be riding on overinflated tires without any warning sign, until you're dealing with uneven wear, worse handling, or worse, a blowout on the highway.

It takes less than five minutes to check your tire pressure with a simple gauge, and it's one of those small habits that genuinely protects your family every time you get behind the wheel.

We've been helping Glenview drivers stay safe on the road since 2009, and little reminders like this one are part of how we try to look out for our community, not just fix cars when something breaks.

Stay safe out there this summer.
