We are locally owned since 2009 and take great pride in delivering car repair and maintenance services to those who trust us with their vehicles. Our motto and mission statement is "Keeping your car reliable and safe." Automotive in Glenview's goal has been to keep your car safe and reliable. Joe, our owner, is a self taught ASE Certified Master Automobile Technician. He has been working on vehicles since 1976, including 3 years as an instructor at an automobile and motorcycle technician school and 19 years in a dealership. He attained the following ASE certifications with a score of 97% over the course of two days of testing:

Joe here to wrap up our rainy-week series. We covered a lot this week, so here's your simple rain-ready checklist all in one place:

🌧️ Wiper blades — streak-free and quiet
🛞 Tires — good tread (penny test) and proper pressure
🛑 Brakes — no squeal, no shudder, stops straight
💡 Lights — all working, lenses clear

You can check most of these in your own driveway in ten minutes, and I'd encourage you to. But if anything looks off — or you'd just rather have a master tech look it over — that's what we're here for. One honest inspection, priced fairly, and you head into the wet weather knowing your car is ready.

Joe here. One more for our rainy week, and it's an easy one to overlook: your lights.

When it's overcast and raining, visibility drops for everyone — and being seen becomes just as important as seeing. A burnt-out taillight or brake light means the driver behind you has a lot less warning when you slow down, which is exactly the wrong situation in the rain. Foggy, yellowed headlight lenses are another quiet problem; they can cut your light output dramatically without you realizing it.

Walk around your car tonight while someone taps the brakes and flips the signals — it takes two minutes. If anything's out or dim, we'll get it sorted fast and cheap. These little things are the heart of preventative care. Save and share.

On wet pavement it already takes longer to stop, so brakes that are even a little worn have to work that much harder. The warning signs are easy to catch if you're paying attention — a high-pitched squeal, a grinding sound, a shudder in the pedal, or your car pulling to one side when you stop. Any of those means it's time for a look.

Brake work is one of those areas where the dealer really stacks up the bill, and it's exactly where we save our customers the most. We'll inspect everything, tell you honestly what's needed and what can wait, and do it right. Share this with someone who's been hearing that squeal and hoping it goes away.

Good evening, everyone. Joe here with a two-minute lesson that saves you money and keeps you safer in the rain this week.

When the temperature drops even a little overnight, your tire pressure drops with it — roughly a pound for every 10 degrees. That's why your low-tire light loves to pop on during the first cool morning of the season. Underinflated tires flex too much, wear out on the edges, cost you fuel, and — this is the part that matters this week — grip wet roads poorly.

The right pressure is printed on a sticker inside your driver's door jamb, not the number on the tire itself. Fill to that. If you're not sure or your light's on, swing by and we'll set them right for you, no charge to check. Save this one for the next chilly morning.

Joe here again. Let's talk tires, because this is the one that keeps me up at night when I know rain is coming.

Your tires are the only four points of contact between your car and the road, and the tread on them has one job in the rain: pushing water out of the way so the rubber can actually grip. When that tread gets low, water gets trapped underneath and your tires start to float — that's hydroplaning, and it happens faster than most people think.

Here's a trick you can do in your driveway: stick a penny into the tread groove, Lincoln's head pointing down. If you can see all of his head, your tread is too low and it's time. Come see us and we'll measure it properly and give you a straight answer — no scare tactics, no upsells.

Here's the thing most folks don't think about until it's too late: your wiper blades. Today we pause to remember. 🇺🇸

On this Patriot Day, our family at J.E.R.S. Automotive joins the country in honoring the nearly 3,000 lives lost on September 11, 2001 — twenty-five years ago today. We remember the first responders who ran toward danger, the families forever changed, and the communities that came together in the days that followed.

Here in Glenview and across the North Shore, we're grateful every day for the neighbors, first responders, and service members who look out for the rest of us. If you see a flag at half-staff today, or take a quiet moment of silence, know that we're doing the same right alongside you.

Patriot Day is also a National Day of Service and Remembrance — a reminder that the best way to honor those we lost is to take care of one another. That's a value we try to carry with us all year long.

To every family in our community: thank you for letting us be a small part of keeping you safe on the road. We don't take that trust lightly.

One of our favorite kinds of five-star reviews.

A customer came in with a Check Engine light on his Subaru. Before stopping by our shop, he'd already been quoted $202 just for a diagnostic scan somewhere else. We ran the scan, found a valve issue, and then told him something a lot of shops wouldn't: this repair is covered under his Subaru warranty, so he should take it to the dealer instead of paying us for it.

That's not us turning away business for no reason. That's us doing what's right for the person sitting in our waiting room. We've built this shop since 2009 on the idea that you should be able to trust the person telling you what's wrong with your car, and that sometimes the most honest thing we can do is point you somewhere else.

Here's what he wrote afterward: the staff are incredibly honest, polite, and truly care about their customers, and he'd recommend us to anyone without hesitation.
