What to Look For: Belts & Hoses Under the Hood

Before cold Montana mornings put extra tension on your engine, take 5 minutes to give your belts and hoses a quick visual check!

Serpentine Belt: Look for cracks, fraying, or squeaking sounds when starting the engine. A snapped belt means losing power steering, your alternator, and the water pump all at once!

Radiator Hoses: Squeeze them gently (when the engine is cool!). They should feel firm but pliable. Soft, squishy, or brittle hoses are prone to leaks when temperatures drop.
