This HP289 is for sale! The block is a service block with a date code of Aug 3 1967. Ported heads have casting date of Dec 23, 1963. Compression is 11:1 and requires a 50:50 mix of 110 racing fuel and regular/premium gas.
Price includes everything except the carburetor and engine run stand. Long tube strip headers have exceeded their lifetime but are included.
Pricing is started at $5,000 and could go lower depending.

History: Block and heads were purchased as part of a deal that was made in apprx 1980. Previous owner was a Ford sponsored drag racer by the name of Tony Sapa, living in Chicago. I had traded the motor and all the parts in his garage for my wife's well optioned 1977 Cutless Supreme with the caveat that I would try to sell the motor and use the other parts as I needed. I did try to sell the motor - I really did; twice. Long story short, rather than let the motor waste away in a corner of the garage, I put it to good use! It was put into my blue fastback in 1988 and put on very little mileage until it was removed last year.

Heading to Altamont, Illinois tomorrow for our second swap meet of the season! Hopefully, the after pictures will show less "stuff"! Last 2 pics are from the Mid-Ohio Mustang Club sponsored event over 2 days in Columbus, Ohio.

Greetings!
I have decided to change this car back to the original color and format: Honey Gold 289 2bbl and A/T. Currently has Metalflake Iced Blue color, 11:1 compression HP289 with toploader 4speed completed in 1989. All of this is in complete disregard to my daughter's wishes as this restomod was her "go to car" during her entire childhood - experiencing burnouts, drifting, and picking her up from school. I know, such sadness to befall.😉😉
As a result, the hood, fiberglass Maier Racing flared fenders, valance, side scoops, and air dam will be going up for sale this spring. If you have any comments or questions, please like, follow, share with car friends, and send a message!

"Red" started as a T-Code '66 Mustang and will receive a small block and 4spd toploader! Found 50yr beautiful old maroon seatbelts under the back seat.
