Friday is Juneteenth, and we are open 10-6. Thank you Texas for this holiday, also known as Emancipation Day, it is the oldest known nationally celebrated event commemorating the end of slavery. Galveston, TX began celebrating it in 1866 and it has been a state holiday since 1980 and a federal holiday since 2021.

Love going to this Greek festival but it’s hard to get a parking spot there. Shuttle buses and parking garages are not my thing either. But here’s my thing: paddle from over to Mercadante beach and you’re there! Group heads over at 6pm to enjoy the food, rides, etc and will paddle back together afterwards.
