Glasgow Garage I’m Nic Alexander, owner of Glasgow Garage. In 2022 I bought the shop. We repair and maintain cars with fair prices and guaranteed work.

I grew up in Haywood, I moved back from Nashville to Glasgow in 2010 to be near my now-wife and started working here. Jeff Lee Automotive Service provides general automotive services, engine repair, diagnostics, auto heating and cooling and more in Glasgow, KY.

We made a post the other day about the importance of keeping your cabin air filter clean. This is what the alternative looks like. This is an evaporator core from a Dodge ram that did not come factory equipped with a cabin air filter so any dirt that comes into the HVAC system gets stuck to the front of this thing. The dirt corrodes the transfer tubes on the evaporator and reduces airflow through the HVAC unit itself. This one leaking refrigerant caused the air conditioning to be completely inoperative and the heater to have very poor output.

This is something I’ve been noticing for many years. Clients often remark to us about conditions related to coolant temperature and what their gauge displayed during the concern. I thought I’d make a post this morning to highlight what likely you would only know if you were a tech.  The picture on the left is the actual temperature that the ECM is seeing from the coolant temperature sensor in the engine. The picture on the right is what the coolant temperature gauge displays. This is a 2021 Silverado 1500 with a V8. It’s the same across most manufacturers. What’s your coolant temperature gauge displays is rarely the actual coolant temperature.  I think vehicle manufacturers build this in as a feel good thing for their customers and I’m not gonna get into the right or wrong of it but that’s the way it is. Hope everyone has a great day.

After more than 30 years proudly serving our community as Jeff Lee Automotive, we’re excited to announce a new chapter in our story. Moving forward, we’ll be known as Glasgow Garage.

While the name is changing, everything you know and trust about us remains the same:

Jeff is still here – you’ll still see him around the shop, doing what he does best.

The same great team you’ve come to know and trust will continue to provide honest, reliable automotive service.
