The lake has changed from busy to relatively quiet over the last couple of weeks. This might be a great time to get a handle on some calm , stress free docking techniques! I've not done many of these this summer for various reasons, but I will be out there on Friday. If you're on the southern part of the lake and would like to take advantage, don't be shy....reach out and let's see what we can do for you!!

My wife is an amazing chef. She will cook a delicious meal, you will devour it and pray you are able to have seconds. I know how to do many things very well. When you need to dock or drive your boat, I'm the guy to teach you. When you ride on a tiki hut boat I'm captain of, you might be cheering my name when we come back to the pier. However, if I offer some kind of food I've made, your best course of action would probably be to excuse yourself and run like hell. My latest attempt was " crock pot porkchops with sauce" . Seems simple enough, right? Meat turned out ok, but the sauce came out like a runny soup. My project to fix the leftovers was today. Different spices, a roux made with corn starch, and what do you know....it came out restaurant quality. I'm calling this a huge win in my column and praying I can continue this crazy turn of events....maybe old dogs CAN learn new tricks. Seconds anyone?? 😉

The 6:45 pm view of Mt. Washington from the lake last evening... visible but very hazy. No lights to be seen later, but appreciative of everyone who posted pictures of the display. I'm a sucker for a nice sunset so the only contribution I can make is the final seconds of sunset over Mark Island heading back home. Small by comparison, but pretty just the same.

Right around the corner from home , if we go around the tip of Bear Island, is the view we see of Mt. Washington off in the distance. I will do my best to get some pictures tomorrow evening as I know many people, ourselves included, have been looking forward to seeing this!
