Behind the Scenes of the Gilbert Car Show 🏁

Ever wonder why we do this? It’s simple: We love Gilbert.

The Derrick Team of Keller Williams and JC’s Outdoors have spent the last five years partnering on this event to celebrate the people who make this town great.

🤝 The Derrick Team: We are Gilbert-born-and-raised realtors. Instead of buying ads, we invest in our community because we know that a referral-based business is built on trust and relationships.

🤝 JC’s Outdoors: A family-owned pillar of our town that lives and breathes the outdoor lifestyle and local service.

Both of our businesses operate non-profits as a way to give back to the place that raised us. We are so excited that all proceeds from the show are being donated to local high school scholarships! 📚✨

Cody is 19 years old and was supposed to graduate from White Knoll High School this past Wednesday. He has dreamed of being in law enforcement since he was a young boy. Three weeks ago, he was involved in a motorcycle wreck on Platt Springs Road that broke his right leg in 6 places, severed his Achillies tendon and crushed his right foot. Cody was responsive and doing well until 4am the next morning when he had a "fat embolism" where the bone marrow escapes into the blood stream and takes over, depleting all oxygen. Cody went into distress, had to be intubated, and became unconscious due to loss of oxygen for quite a bit of time. As a result, he has had numerous small strokes that have damaged his brain at 45%. Doctors have said his brain can recover but it will be a lengthy process. He remained comatose for over 2 weeks. Also, because of the strokes, he has limited use of the left side of his body and can't sit up without assistance.

He is still a patient at Prisma Richland and will be for a while longer before going to rehab for months.

Anything you can do to spread the word about this event and garner any support for this young man and his family will be much appreciated! He and his family covet all the prayers they can get!
