What’s one song you have to play every time you’re out on the boat? Drop it in the comments. We want to hear what everyone’s listening to this summer⬇️

⚠️ There’s been a lot of talk about boat blowers online lately, so here’s a quick reminder!! If you have a gas inboard or I/O (sterndrive), your blower is there for a reason. Gasoline fumes can collect in the bilge, and all it takes is one spark when you turn the key.

Before you start your engine, run your blower for at least 4 minutes. If you’ve just fueled up or your boat has been sitting for a while, it’s even more important. If you smell gasoline, don’t start the engine until you figure out where it’s’s coming from.

Outboards generally don’t have blowers, so this doesn’t apply to every boat. It only takes a few minutes, but it’s one of the easiest ways to help keep you, your passengers, and your boat safe.

Have a safe week on the water☀️

Summer on the Sass: blue skies one minute, storm clouds the next. The view never disappoints, but these afternoon storms can build fast. If you’re headed out, keep an eye on the radar and have a plan to get back safely☔️⛈️

Who else loves watching a summer storm roll across the water?⬇️

Anyone else notice just how much seagrass is out there right now? It’s that time of year on the Chesapeake, and while it’s great for the bay, it can definitely make a mess of your boat if you’re not paying attention.

Before you head home from a day on the water, take a few minutes to:
• Check your prop for wrapped grass.
• Make sure your water intake isn’t clogged.
• Keep an eye on your engine temp.
• Clear any grass off your trim tabs or lower unit.
• Give everything a quick look before your next trip.

A two-minute check at the dock can save you from a much bigger headache later. Have you been running into the seagrass lately?🌿
