Fun Fact, we learnt while visiting Rivet Restoration today. The "Airstream" Lore at Pecan Park Riverside RV Park, Because base housing was often packed or unavailable for temporary training cycles, many pilots and officers found alternative ways to live nearby. The historic pecan orchards along the San Marcos River—now the site of the Pecan Park Riverside RV Park—became a makeshift community. According to local oral histories passed down by old-time pilots, a group of Air Force pilots lived together in a cluster of Airstream trailers nestled right under those pecan trees during the 1950s and 1960s. Over time, military personnel and locals casually referred to these riverside trailer clusters as "Airstream parks." I think we fit in!
