Please help us in supporting B.I.G. and Team Will!
I just wanted you to know that Will has settled into the Brookwood in Georgetown (BiG) community with no issues! He “works” Monday-Thursday making pottery, working in the greenhouse, delivering cookies to local businesses and participating in a variety of other fun activities. He loves being part of the group of Citizens at BiG that truly embrace and celebrate the unique abilities that make each one who they are!
Will feels so valued, and he literally cannot wait for each morning to dawn so he can “work with his friends”. It is a blessing to see him so happy and engaged with his bright future.
BiG is not a school or “day-habitation program”. It is a unique faith-based vocational community for adults with special needs where everything they make is sold in a beautiful high-end gift shop, café and greenhouse.
BiG’s goal is to change the way our world views this population and is designing a bright future for adults with special needs by:
** Affirming that each citizen in the community is created in the image of God.
** Providing meaningful work through innovative enterprises.
** Changing the way the world views adults with special needs.
BiG is a non-profit program and takes no government money. It is tuition-based to help offset operating expenses; however, the tuition revenue does not nearly cover the costs of such an inclusive program. Currently, BiG uses over 100 volunteers to help cut costs, and taps heavily into the community for financial and service donations.
To bridge the financial gap, BiG holds an annual Golf Benefit Fundraiser with 100% proceeds going directly to the program to help with operating costs. Instead of the typical pay-to-play golf tournament model, the golf benefit focuses on each Citizen of BiG as the captain of their fundraising team with the goal of raising $10,000 each. Citizen teams work with partnering fundraisers - including family, friends, and businesses - to help spread the mission of BiG and invite others to participate.
Will you become part of the BiG blueprint for success by partnering with Team Will!
Please pass this information on to any friends that might be interested in helping the BiG community. Special needs issues touch so many families in a variety of ways. Perhaps they too would like to see a program like BiG grow, and model to the world a blueprint for the success for this wonderfully unique population. Finally, there is no expectation of a monetary donation. However, if you feel inclined to do so, donations can be made online at

or you can mail a check to BiG, 905 N. Church St. Georgetown, Texas 78626, attention Team Will O’Brien.
