IT’S MORE THAN JUST A CAR.
It’s the memories made along the way.

Then a warm photo of a classic/hot rod on a Wisconsin back road or parked in small-town Sharon — bright, warm, slightly vintage, with just a little grit. Not dark. Small Traffic Jams branding at the bottom and “Living the Wrenchlife.”

The Facebook caption could be:

Some people see an old car.
We see the first cruise. The family road trips. The Saturday afternoons in the garage. The stories that get told over and over again.

That's what Wrenchlife is really about.

What car brings back the best memories for you?

If you're a car person, give yourself some time when you walk through the door in Clinton. 😎

Our Clinton location is a little hard to describe.

Part showroom.
Part automobilia shop.
Part museum.
Part garage.
And probably a little bit of what's going on inside Bob's head. 😂

You'll find old neon signs, automotive advertising, garage décor, parts for older cars, signs, toys, memorabilia and all kinds of oddball automotive stuff that Bob has collected over the years.

And that's exactly the point.

This isn't supposed to be a high-end museum where everything is behind a rope. It's filled with the kind of stuff car people remember seeing in garages, gas stations, dealerships, racetracks and neighborhood shops.

Some of it is just fun to look at.

And quite a bit of it is for sale.

Come wander around. You never know what you'll find.

Sometimes a vehicle comes into the shop with more than a repair history. It comes with a family history.

About three years ago, Jim and Sean brought us this 1968 Dodge D100 pickup.

The truck had been in their family since it was brand new.

After sitting in Kay's garage for about 10 years, getting it out was an adventure by itself. The wheels were locked up, mice were running for cover, and underneath it all was still a pretty kool old truck—a six-cylinder, three-speed Dodge that deserved another chapter.

So the work began.

Metal work. Wiring. Interior. Mechanical work. The whole lot.

But while we were restoring the truck, something happened that nobody could have planned.

Traffic Jams bought another building in Sharon.

We moved our fabrication and engine operation into that building—and that's where we finished the D100.

Then came the part that makes this story special.

We discovered that this was the same building where the truck had originally been purchased new from the Dodge dealership back in 1968.

More than half a century later, the same family's truck came back to the building where its story began—this time to be restored.

Full circle.

Ever wonder where the name Traffic Jams came from?

You have to go back to 1991.

That's when Bob opened a stereo store specializing in high-end automotive sound. The name Traffic Jams started as a play on music, cars and being out on the road.

The stereo store eventually became part of the past—but the name didn't.

Bob continued using Traffic Jams for his automotive businesses, and more than 35 years later, it's still on the building.

A lot has changed since 1991. Stereos gave way to hot rods, restorations, fabrication, custom work and everyday automotive repair.

But cars were always at the center of it.

Same name. Same passion. A whole lot more Wrenchlife.

WHAT'S IN THE SHOP? 🔧 — 1936 Ford Coupe

This one has some history.

The same family that owns the 1968 Dodge D100 we've told you about has owned this '36 Ford Coupe for roughly 35–40 years.

For years it had its original-style drivetrain, chassis and interior. Now it's getting a whole new life.

The transformation includes a new chassis, late-model suspension, a small-block Chevy paired with a T5 transmission, fresh paint on an exceptionally solid rust-free body, and a completely new interior with TMI seats.

The goal isn't to build something that's afraid to leave the garage.

This one's being built to drive.

When it's finished, this family will have a classic Ford they can actually get out, enjoy and make some new memories with.

And there's another connection we'll be sharing soon—the owners of this Coupe are also behind a pretty incredible 1968 Dodge D100 story.

Stay tuned. We'll show you more of the '36 when it's finished.

Real cars. Real work. Real stories. That's the Wrenchlife.

Everybody's Wrenchlife starts somewhere. 🔧

For Bob, it started at just 13 years old, working on a 1972 Jeep CJ5 with his cousin Vito in the garage in Hickory Hills, Illinois.

But the story really started even earlier. As a kid, Bob was already hanging around people like neighbor Jerry Nelson and cousins Vito and Richard, learning about cars and soaking up the car culture around him.

That Jeep wasn't just his first build.

It was the beginning of a lifetime of hot rods, racing, restorations, broken parts, problem solving—and probably more than a few late nights in the garage.

More than five decades later, he's still at it.

Same passion. Bigger garage.

Welcome to Bobfather's Garage — where we'll share some of the cars, people, lessons and stories that helped create the Wrenchlife.

Your daily driver deserves the same attention. 🔧

We love hot rods, classics and custom builds—but we also know that the vehicle you depend on every day needs to be taken care of.

Oil changes, brakes, tires, fluid checks, diagnostics, maintenance and everyday repairs are all part of what we do at our Sharon shop.

Taking care of the little things today can help prevent much bigger problems tomorrow.
