A Real Update — Personally & Professionally
I’ve gone back and forth about whether or not to write this.
For the most part, I’ve always tried to keep my personal life separate from Flawless. When you own a business, it’s easy to feel like you have to show everyone that everything is great all the time.
But the truth is… it hasn’t been.
The last year or so has probably been one of the hardest chapters of my life.
My divorce brought a lot of changes, a lot of uncertainty, and honestly, a lot of fighting. Even after doing everything I could to uphold my responsibilities and move forward, there have continued to be battles and situations that have made it incredibly difficult to simply put the past behind me.
At one point, I went an entire month without being able to work because I was locked out of my own shop.
Think about that for a second.
For a small business that relies heavily on its owner being there every day, losing an entire month of work isn't just frustrating. It's devastating.
And while all of that was happening personally, I was still trying to keep Flawless alive professionally.
This business has always been heavily dependent on me. I’m the one doing the work, talking to customers, answering messages, managing the business, and making sure every vehicle that leaves the shop is something I’m proud to put my name on.
So when I wasn’t doing well, the business wasn't doing well either.
I’ve also been sick on and off throughout the year. All together, there have been roughly three months where I simply wasn't physically capable of working like I normally do.
Between the divorce, losing access to my shop, being sick, and eventually transitioning the business to Mentor, there have been a lot of reasons why Flawless hasn't been moving at the pace I wanted it to.
And I'll be honest—there have been times when I've questioned whether continuing was even the right decision.
But there’s another side to this story that I’m really proud of.
I’ve lost around 100 pounds.
And that has changed my everyday life more than I can really put into words.
I feel better. I move better. Everyday things are easier. And outside of the periods where I've been sick, I genuinely feel healthier than I have in a long time.
That accomplishment has reminded me of something important:
Progress doesn't always look like success from the outside.
Sometimes progress is rebuilding a business.
Sometimes it's getting through a difficult day.
Sometimes it's losing 100 pounds.
Sometimes it's simply getting back up and trying again when you really don't feel like you have anything left.
And I didn't do all of that completely on my own.
I've been incredibly fortunate to have a really solid group of close friends around me.
People who have listened when I needed to talk. People who have checked in when I disappeared. People who have gotten me out of the house when I needed it. People who have let me vent, let me be frustrated, let me be myself, and reminded me that life doesn't end just because one chapter falls apart.
They've helped me keep things together mentally and emotionally through some pretty difficult moments.
I don't think I can adequately explain how much that has meant to me.
You know who you are. And I love you guys for it.
That's where I'm at right now.
I'm rebuilding.
Personally.
Professionally.
Physically.
And here's the part I want to focus on now:
I'm excited about what's ahead.
The transition to Mentor may have been slower than I wanted, but I'm finally starting to feel like I'm getting my footing again. The shop is coming together. I'm feeling better. I'm getting my energy back. And I'm starting to see possibilities again instead of just problems.
I have a lot of ideas for Flawless.
I have a lot of things I want to improve.
And I have a lot left that I want to accomplish.
Maybe this chapter isn't about getting back to where I was.
Maybe it's about building something even better than what I had before.
I’m not going to pretend the last year didn't happen. It changed me. It challenged me. And in a lot of ways, it forced me to slow down and reevaluate what really matters.
But I'm choosing to look at it as a chapter—not the whole story.
So if you've noticed things have been quieter, if you've wondered where I've been, or if you've wondered what's happening with Flawless…
That's the truth.
It hasn't been because I stopped caring.
It hasn't been because I gave up.
Life just got really heavy for a while.
But I'm getting healthier. I'm getting stronger. I'm getting things back in order.
And now, I'm ready to start building again.
To everyone who has supported me, supported Flawless, referred someone, shared a post, brought me a vehicle, or simply checked in—
Thank you. More than you probably realize.
There are still a lot of miles left on this road.
And I’m looking forward to every one of them.
