These are the various stages we have gone through to make a new engine cover for the K20C. I always felt the stock valve cover looked ugly. Most of us ditch the Honda cover and even with changing the stock valve cover to Spoon or Js with a Carbon Plug cover it looks less appealing to me than the old style Honda engines like the B Series. So as a fun Throwback project I was able to finish by 3D printing Fiberglass / Plastic Hybrid engine cover giving it a more pleasing look. I really love the way this filament gives that textured wrinkle finish already without having the imitate wrinkle finish.
At first I did the old school DOHC VTEC lettering but that did seem a dated and the print didn’t come out too sharp. So I changed it to a VTEC TURBO emblem I was able to find online.
New Era of Honda engines this seemed more Modern but still giving me the old school feels.
What color would you like to see next? I’m thinking phoenix yellow or Spoon Yellow 😂
