Ever wondered what’s underneath your BRZ’s cylinder heads? Here’s your close-up🔧👀
This 2017 Subaru BRZ is getting an IAG short block installation at EDO Performance. Here’s what you’re looking at:
🔘 Cylinder bores: Where the pistons move back and forth, transferring combustion force through the connecting rods to turn the crankshaft.
🔩 Head studs: The cylinder head fits over these. Once tightened with nuts, they help clamp the head and head gasket securely to the block.
⚙️ Block deck: The flat mating surface where the head gasket sits, with the cylinder head above it. A clean, properly prepared surface matters for sealing combustion pressure, oil, and coolant.
Small details. A big job. And a closer look at what goes into putting an FA20 back together. 🙌
