Sometimes repairs aren’t very pretty. This power rail had a microscopic break that lead to one module not receiving power, leading to a persistent knock code.
The jumper was added to fix that problem.
This was a warranty repair. Sometimes things test fine on the bench and just don’t show up until they’re back in the real world.
Ideally, we don’t want anyone receiving parts from us that aren’t working properly, but sometimes things just sneak by quality control.
That’s why we warranty our work, just in case.
