It looks like an important symbol, but what is an ASE Certification exactly?

This is one of those things that you don't know unless you know. The short of it is yes, it is important.

ASE Certification, also known as Automotive Service Excellence, is the certification granted to an automotive technician who has completed the required training and obtained their Automotive Service Excellence Certified Master Technicians requirements. This means they are qualified to work on every mechanical, electrical component, and system in a vehicle.

When a customer brings their vehicle in for repairs, they want to know their car is being fixed by a reputable professional. Customers trust the Automotive Service Excellence Certification seal because they know their mechanic is a master in vehicle repair.

When the ASE Seal is displayed outside of a service station, customers know there is at least one mechanic in the building with the best automotive education available. They know their vehicle is in good hands and will be repaired with the best craftsmanship possible.

At Bowles Complete Autocare, we’ve put together this simple vehicle maintenance checklist to help you start the school year confidently and avoid unexpected breakdowns.

1. Check Your Tires - Proper tire pressure = better fuel economy and safer handling. Look for tread wear, sidewall cracks, and uneven patterns. Need a rotation or alignment? We’ve got you covered.

2. Inspect Your Brakes - Hear squeaking or grinding? Don’t wait! Brake performance is critical when driving near schools or in heavy traffic. Let our technicians assess your pads, rotors, and fluid levels.

3. Test the Battery - A weak or old battery could leave you stranded on the way to class. We’ll test your battery strength and connections, and can replace it if needed.

4. Top Off/Change Fluids - Engine oil, brake fluid, coolant, windshield washer fluid. They all play a role in smooth, safe driving. Get them checked, changed, or topped off before the schedule gets busy.

5. Replace Wipers/Check Bulbs - Rainy season is coming! Make sure wipers are streak-free and headlights, brake lights, and signals are fully functional.

6. Review Emergency Supplies - Equip your trunk with a first-aid kit, flashlight, jumper cables, tire inflator, and blanket. Especially for students heading off to college.
