Temps and heat index next week will be extreme. Here are some tips from Good Sam to keep your RV cool and comfortable:

1. Start cooling early It is much easier to maintain a lower temp than to let it get to 100 degrees and then try to cool it down.
2. Reduce the area to be cooled examples cabin area, overhead bed, bathroom and bedroom. After the sun goes down open up these areas if they are going to be used.
3. Cut down heat from the sun on your RV and on the windows. Examples park where you can get shade in the afternoon if possible. If no shade is available either park facing West since the front of you RV is smallest surface area there will be less heat gain than the afternoon sun hitting the hitting the side of your RV or park with your awning side to the West and put your awning out to shade the side of your RV. Use a windshield cover on the outside of your cab windshield and door windows. Tint your windows if possible. Window awnings will also help. Cut Reflective Radiant Barrier to fit the inside of your windows or use aluminum foil.
4. Try not use the range or cook top when the sun is out if you must use these wait till nighttime.
5. Maintenance clean your AC filters. Clean the outside coils on the AC on the roof.
6. Use some fans a fan will not make it cooler but it will make it feel cooler

It's going to be hot and No Rain next week !

Memorial Day weekend is upon us. We will have limited hours this weekend but we are around so if you come by and our door is locked during our regular hours, just call the office at 740-965-4003, and we can come up to meet you.

We were lucky to dodge the storms yesterday and are back to our regular scheduled hours.

I want all of my Ohio friends, family and followers to know the severity of the severe weather situation tomorrow. "POTENTIALLY SUBSTANTIAL SEVERE WEATHER OUTBREAK -- POSSIBLY
INCLUDING A FEW SIGNIFICANT/LONG-TRACK TORNADOES"

The SPC has raised concerns to a level 4/5 including the risk of long track, significant tornadoes for essentially all of Ohio tomorrow afternoon and evening.

I have been doing this for 14 years and it is rare if I raise alarm bells. But please, learn from previous events. Take tomorrow seriously. I don't want to dig any friends or family out of rubble if this event comes to forecast like it's looking. Have a plan. Take it seriously and seek shelter. This is your warning.

Good Afternoon Friends! We are again in the path of major storm likely to produce tornados coming this afternoon and evening. We will remain open so long as no tornado warnings or watches are issued.

In the event the storm does impact us again on a major level we will try to keep you all up-to-date on our hours and for our customers that have units in storage or are here for service we will contact you if there is any damage.

This storm is supposed to impact almost all of Ohio. Please stay weather aware and be safe.

Update 3-16-24

Our power is back on and we are back on site today. We have some damage to our premises and some damage to our units. If your unit was damaged we will be reaching out to you directly please do not call as we are overloaded with calls at the moment. Thank you for your patience as we continue to work through this situation.

Berkshire RV Sales will be closed for the time being. Our area was hit hard by the severe storms last night. We are currently without power and are assessing the damage. If you have an RV on our lot for storage or service there does not appear to be any damage to the lot units.

Our hearts also go out to our neighbors at Berkshire Lake Campgrounds as they do have a lot of damage. We hope everyone made it out safe over there. Please do not come to the area, local PD has issued warning of a lot of downed lines and trees.

Thank you
