It has been 52 years now since the infamous Stag infiltrated the ranks of motorsports. Within this time the Jägermeister race cars became a staple of the track, skating thru different genres from rally racing, to Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters, to F1. The Jägermeister was an iconic livery seen across many cars - 911 RSR, 914/6, 917/10, 934, 935, 956 and 962s just to name a few of the Porsches.

Grand Prix White w/ Green 1973 911 Carrera RS 2.7L
Chassis # 0505
VIN # 9113600505
Mileage: 58,138

Did you know the Carrera RS was originally planned to be delivered exclusively in one color? This did not last long and was expanded to two colors - white and a sort of ‘day-glow’ orange. Well the orange color ended up being a wash due to German Motor regulations and the white color wasn’t as well received either.

But, nothing changed and by the time 1973 rolled around white became the official Carrera color. Porsche then changed the name from Greenland White to a much sportier sounding Grand Prix White that it is known as today. The exclusive color did not last long at all however as the RS was produced in all series colors, special colors and even 15 paint to sample colors!

The infamous color coordinated lettering and wheels in green, blue or red were only originally available with the Grand Prix White paint finish. Every other color Carrera RS had black decals on the rear lid with optional Carrera side decals in black. This meant on darker Carrera RS models there was no contrast between the body and the decal, subsequently leading to Porsche (sometimes) providing those models with red lettering.

1979 Porsche 911 IMSA GTU #64

Cool car Friday! Porsche powered 911 RSR 6 cylinder dual plug engine. This GTU is tricked out with an upside down gearbox and spattered with 935 parts such as the aluminum pedal cluster. Originally raced by driving legends Dennis AASE and Alan Johnson in 1979 and 1980. After sitting in storage for 30 years, current owner of AASE Sales Ron Thomas purchased the car and fully restored it - with Dennis’ collaboration - prior to a debut at Rennsport Reunion. May Dennis’ spirit live on partly thru this magnificent car.

Have a great weekend.

Signal Orange 1971 911T Sportomatic
Chassis # 2370
VIN # 9111112370
Mileage: 32,820

First introduced in 1967 the Targa featured a soft rear window and an easily foldable top that fit in the rear luggage area. The tops varied over the years, with improvements being made to the folding frame design and change of headliner materials. Despite improvements, the affixing points and related hardware remained the same over the years making complete interchange possible.

Many tops now days are in poor shape or even period incorrect to the car itself. We restore Targa tops in house, including the one on this original Sportomatic. Winter is coming, send your top to us today and we will restore it with German period-correct materials. It will look as it did when it left the factory! Drop us a line to get more details on pricing and lead-time.

Irish Green 1966 911 Coupe
Chassis # 4346
VIN # 304346
Mileage: 77,032

The small Durant mirror was originally used on 1965 to 1967 911 & 912 model years and was the same mirror found on 356C model types. From 1968 a slightly larger diameter Durant appeared and was in use until the 1972 model year when the flag mirror made its appearance.

Talbot bullet mirrors were also sometimes found on model years from 1965 to 1968, although not installed by the factory they could be optionally ordered for around $13.00. What a steal!

Marathon Blue Metallic 1976 930 Turbo 3.0L
Chassis # 350
VIN # 9306800350
Mileage: 20,757

Marathon Blue Metallic, most usually seen on 914s and VWs of the era, was an unheard of color for a 911/930. Originally special ordered in this color to match a 1973 Baja Super Beetle that the original owner also had.

Auratium Green 1958 356A Outlaw Speedster
VIN # 102371
Mileage: 50,855

Originally a 356A Coupe with a hot rod motor, this 356 rolled over at a hill climb event and was in very rough shape. We decided to breathe some life into it, and have some fun at the same time! First we chopped off the smashed roof, did a ton of metal work, got a cool paint job and turned it into a Speedster Outlaw. Sometimes complete originality is infeasible, so you might as well have some fun and build something cool!

It now even has a driver’s side roll bar, although we are hoping it only had one roll over in its lifetime 😅

Check out the last two photos to get an idea of the scope of work..
