Twin County Region - AACA

Twin County Region - AACA Twin County Region AACA, Galax, VA, is an antique car club which has about 60 + member families. We have members from Staunton, VA to Mocksville, NC.

Antique car ownership is not a requirement for joining, only an interest in them. It is a requirement of TCR that one must be a member of the AACA to join the local club. We have at least one driving tour every month, usually on the back roads of our area, which always includes a stop for a meal. Our motto is "Live to Drive, Drive to Eat"! We meet monthly from September to April at Old Cranks Motorcar Museum on the second Tuesday at 7 pm.

Wanted to share this. My dad Billy Sizemore used to be a member. We attend this church and we have a free community meal every quarter. We’re trying get more attendance and I suggested trying a cruise in.

The Rebeltown Market classic car show, along with many other events are scheduled for this Saturday, August 15th, from 10am-2pm. They are asking for help from the Twin County AACA.
If you can help please be there (intersection Rt #89 & Pipers Gap Road) around 9:00am. The car show will be held at the grassy lot across from Rebeltown Market.

Joel Rudy, Tom & Faye Littrell plan to help, any other help will be appreciated. All are encouraged to come enjoy this event, it should be a great day with the many events that will be occurring.

Tom ask if there is any interest in a group to go to Cass Railroad State Park to ride the train? If not, Tom may just pick a weekend for him & Faye and others can join if so desired. Please let Tom know if you're interested.Inline image

Tom Littrell is still recruiting volunteers that would be willing to help at the 1st annual Rebeltown Market car show this Saturday July 25th.
Sponsors are asking for 6 or more AACA club members to help with parking, registration and tallying up the winners for the People Choice awards, there will be no judging.
There’s a meeting this Tuesday July 21st at Rebeltown Market (old Horton’s Supermarket intersection of South Main/Pipers Gap road) at 7pm to cover the final details for the show.
If you can help with the show, feel free to attend the Tuesday meeting, but it's not required. Anyone who can help please be there Saturday morning.
The show is from 10am -2pm in the grassy lot across from the Rebeltown Market on south main street (Rt #89 in Galax).

Today's club tour in Grayson county is set! Thanks Charles-Sarah Love Rudy .
Right now, the National weather service is only forecasting a 40% chance of rain later this afternoon. So let's go ahead with our tour.

Meet at the old courthouse in Independence at 2:00 and we'll go from there. Hope you can come.

If the weather will cooperate, we'd like to try getting together another outing with our vehicles. We're trying for this coming Sunday, the 19th. Meet at the old courthouse in Independence at 2:00. We'll take about a 2-hour slow ride through the countryside and return to Independence for either ice cream at the Frosty Monkey, or an early supper meal at Aunt Bea's, the Mexican restaurant, Ciro's, etc., whichever seems best.

Please check emails by Sunday at mid-morning to see if we're still going. I will send an email to confirm the outing or to postpone again. Right now, the forecast is 50% for rain Sunday afternoon.

Rebeltown Market, old Horton’s Supermarket, one of our car show sponsors, is having a People’s Choice car show in conjunction with the Smoke on the Creek event on July 25 from 10-2.
They’ve asked for help from our car club for 6 folks who would be willing to help with parking, counting the money and other things.

Also we encourage folks to bring their cars out to the show.

Postponed due to weather!!!

Club members,
Joel and I want to take a slow tour this coming Sunday afternoon (June 28th). We'll meet at the old courthouse in Independence around 2:00, ride about an hour and a half, then stop for either a snack or ice cream.

I'm taking the Model T, so it'll be all backroads and not very fast. If the weather turns sour we'll postpone.
