U.S. researchers have estimated that 365 million to 1 billion birds die each year from collisions with buildings and glass. More recent conservation organizations commonly cite more than 1 billion annually.
This isn't just a skyscraper problem. About 44% of documented bird strikes occur at homes and buildings only 1–3 stories tall.
Birds often see reflections of trees, sky, and vegetation in glass and interpret those reflections as open space. They may also see through one pane of glass to habitat on the other side and attempt to fly through.
Collisions increase during spring and fall migration, particularly in the morning after nighttime migration.
Many collisions aren't noticed because injured or dead birds can fall out of sight or be removed by predators. Audubon notes that for every collision victim found, additional victims may go undetected.
Here at Tint352 we offer BIRD-SAFE WINDOW FILM
Protect your building. Help protect our birds.
Every year, hundreds of millions to more than a billion birds die after colliding with glass in the United States. Reflective glass can make buildings appear invisible to birds.
Tint352 can help reduce bird collisions by applying professionally installed bird-safe film and visual patterns to existing glass.
✔ Helps break up dangerous reflections
✔ Helps birds recognize glass as a barrier
✔ Can be retrofitted to existing windows
✔ Ideal for offices, schools, storefronts, homes & large glass buildings
