Another repair company had already been on site, replaced an air tank sensor, and was leaning toward replacing the instrument panel, but the issue was still not resolved.
Performed electrical troubleshooting and voltage drop testing on cab power and ground circuits. Found excessive voltage drop and unstable cab power supply, which was causing loss of power, dash irregularities, and brake alarm activation when additional loads were applied.
Located faulty power and ground connections, repaired the affected wiring/connections, and restored normal cab electrical operation. After electrical repairs were completed, continued with A/C diagnosis and found additional HVAC-related faults along with a low refrigerant condition.
Proper diagnostics saves time and parts.

This unit had already been through multiple repair attempts before reaching our shop, including replacement of the NOx sensor, DPF pressure sensor, and aftertreatment harness, along with removal and cleaning of the DOC and DPF. Even after those repairs, the original issue was still not resolved.
After a full inspection and evaluation, we found damage from prior removal and installation along with multiple faults in the aftertreatment system. Several components had to be repaired and replaced to restore the system to proper working order before accurate diagnostics could be performed.
Once the system was correctly reassembled with known-good parts, testing confirmed the real issue was failed regeneration performance. The aftertreatment system was not reaching proper temperature, and the fuel doser was not injecting as required.
Proper diagnosis matters. Replacing parts without identifying the root cause can lead to unnecessary expense and additional damage.
