Update on yesterday’s post…

For me, it doesn't get much more rewarding than fixing a customer's drivability issues.

This 6.0 swapped '06 Sierra came in shifting harder than your uncle's backyard-built TH400 and smelling like it had a 1050 Dominator carb. Along with that, the ABS/Brake lamps were illuminated, including a service brake system message on the dash. Driveability was subpar.

Investigation found the shift pressure table to be maxed out at 96 psi in all cells, 3.23 gearing programmed with 3.73 gears installed.

This truck with an unknown cam, unknown stall speed and very limited information now runs and drives like it's supposed to and makes great power for what it is.

Thanks to Angel Huizar for letting me get this dialed in for you!

I constantly get calls about drivability. This one showed up this morning with ALL the shift pressure. Why? 🤡

Completely unnecessary. The transmission is built with a shift kit as well. Shift firmness is very subjective, but there’s absolutely no reason to add this much on top of what you’re already getting mechanically.

Stopped by and knocked out some tuning on Russ’s ZO6, in order to do a first startup.

This car is basically a C6 with a C5 Body. Everything from top to bottom has been touched. One off custom pieces everywhere, suspension, custom cage, hand tig-welded 3” exhaust done by Garrett at KWO, dry-sump conversion… A LOT of talent was put into this car.

That beautiful symphony is brought to you by a 408ci stroked LS3 assembled in house at KWO, featuring a 400ci + camshaft and supporting valvetrain. It breathes from a custom, OTR ram-air intake and exhausts through a set of 2” LT’s.

There are a few things to button up, but we’ll be breaking it in on the street next week, followed by some track tuning after the break in period.

Thanks to Kent and staff for allowing me to be a small part of this big project. Your knowledge and hospitality is always appreciated.

Thanks to my long time customer John for letting me get this awesome ‘66 GMC dialed in for him.

This pro-touring style, work in progress features a custom chassis, Aldan American coil overs, Wilwood Disc Brakes, wheels and many other hand made truck parts.

The power plant is a fully forged L83 featuring a Brian Tooley Racing Stage 2 cam, backed by a CD009 transmission.

Can’t wait to see this one once it’s finished!

Chevrolet Performance CAI install + tune on an ‘07 RSCB for .morenoo today.

The truck was calibrated for 4.10’s and 31” tires. I found that it had 3.73’s and 29” tires, so we fixed that. All torque management was disabled in the trans file, plus someone added 30-40 psi to the shift tables. 😳 this practice isn’t needed with a shift kit and corvette servo…

Now, that 4L60 is shifting like it should.

I’d like to thank Mikey for his patience and fellowship today.

Also, thanks to United By Trucks and a few others for their referrals.

Big progress this week on 's '68
C10!
gaddy and I removed the old fuel tank and lines, stock exhaust and transmission crossmember.

This morning, we finished assembling the LQ9 long block and lowered it down on the mounts this afternoon.

Also added a nice touch with those ceramic coated manifolds!

Soon, we'll have the .mafia built 4L65 in place, along with some of the best products made to finish this truck up. Looking forward to this one!
