It always fascinates me how we get packs of certain vehicles in the shop at a time. We’ll get a pack of Jeeps, a pack of Priuses, a pack of Volkswagens.
We can’t stress enough, be careful who you allow to do repairs on your automobile. The owner of this Chevrolet Cruze had a local shop replace the valve cover gasket a few months ago. Unfortunately, they over torqued the bolts causing thread damage to multiple hold down bolt holes.
She had the job done a second time by someone else, and it still leaked. After paying two different mechanics to attempt to repair her leak, she came to us. Luckily it was an easy fix. However, the time, money, and oily mess she had to deal with would have been easily avoided had they used a high quality torque wrench to avoid thread damage.
Get it done right the first time... Get it DONE at King’s.
Happy New Year!!! Everyone be safe tonight. We will be closed New Year Day and back at it on Thursday. So give us a call for an estimate or to schedule service! 940-668-6977
We just had a customer drop these retro keychains off Dad or Grandpa had made back in the day.
Finished up this Supercharged Range Rover last week. It was throwing a code for a lean condition. After verifying the data we determined it was only with throttle closed. We ran a smoke test on induction and noticed a small amount of leakage at the PCV valves.
We called Land Rover to see how much they would charge and they didn't want to give an estimate. They said, "That's a complicated beast". The customer decided to have us take a crack at it and I'm happy to report, no more lean condition.
We will be closed Monday September 2nd.
This 2003 Ford F-350 started having overheating issues and showed up here. We started simple and put a thermostat in it, but the vehicle still had overheating issues. Upon running numerous other tests we found he was getting combustible gas into the cooling system so we had to pull the cylinder heads and resurface due to warpage.
After reassembly we still had an overheating condition. We had already pulled water pump and inspected for impeller slippage/integrity, cleaned air coolers (externally), checked airflow, & ran temperature drop testing. So we came to the conclusion we had a restriction in the radiator even though it would drop temp properly after we would run the test in the shop. Turns out another shop had loaded this thing up with stop leak.
DO NOT use STOP LEAK!!! Unless you are in an extreme emergency just pay to get it fixed right and you will save yourself money. New injector sleeves going into the heads in the photo.
