5 years ago today, GKR Motor Cars officially began.

At the time, we had no idea exactly what GKR would become. We just knew we wanted to build incredible cars, do things our own way, and create something we could be proud of.

5 years later, we’ve built cars we once only dreamed about building, met some incredible people, made plenty of mistakes, learned even more, and continued pushing GKR further than we originally imagined.

Somewhere along the way, GKR also became more than a shop.

It became a brand.

And maybe the best example of that is something that wasn’t even an idea on day one: GKR Paddock Club.

Soon, the first owners will be moving into their own garage condos carrying the GKR name. A place built around the same passion for cars and the community around them that started all of this five years ago.

That’s pretty surreal to think about.

But one thing hasn’t changed: we still get excited about cars.

The details. The problem solving. The first drive. And especially that moment when a finished car rolls out of the shop looking nothing like the car that originally rolled in.

To every client who trusted us with their car, every person who has worked alongside us, every company we’ve partnered with, and everyone who has followed along with the builds. Thank you!

Introducing Timberline.

This project started 23 years ago, when 17-year-old Tyler fell in love with the all-new Cummins-powered Ram that had just come out. Buying one new wasn’t in the cards, but the dream stuck.

In spring 2026, a green 2003 Ram 3500 with a six-speed manual appeared on Facebook Marketplace. The listing was only seven hours old. Tyler was at the bank when it opened, and the GKR crew went to look at the truck. It checked out, so they brought it home.

The plan was a weekend project: build a shop truck for GKR. Three months of upgrades later, Timberline drives the way Tyler always wanted it to.

It’s a proper shop truck now, and one that feels right for GKR. But to Tyler, its value goes well beyond the build. Every time he gets behind the wheel, he remembers the kid who wanted one 23 years ago.
