16 years ago today we received our Maine used car dealer's license beginning the Fryeburg Motors journey. In that time we've moved twice landing at our current location, the former Holden Brothers Ford dealership.

After extensive renovations our property is now home to Fryeburg Motors, J&T Autobody, and Sew What Michelle - providing custom sewing fabrication and upholstery for cars, trucks, planes, trains, and homes.

This year we made the difficult decision to give up our dealer's license. Instead, we'll continue to focus on service and repairs. We still love cars and the excitement of driving and maintaining a current or classic ride and we'll still be here to keep them going for you!

We received the results of Portia's DNA test much sooner than we expected so we've decided to complete the contest and announce a winner! We collected $126.50 in guesses and donations at $1 a guess. Fryeburg Motors matched that sum and sent a check for $253 to Rescue Charlie's Friends, where we adopted Portia. So, what breed is Portia? In short, a mutt! Her DNA breaks down as:

Our 1985 Subaru BRAT has been sold! We're happy that a good customer will be keeping it in the area and plans to drive it to local cruising events. Sew What Michelle custom upholstered the seats and we corrected some rust on the floor pans as well as any mechanical work necessary to make this BRAT a reliable driver.

Meet Portia. She's our latest addition and enjoys hanging out, getting pats, and offering solace to those who need a break from the daily grind. One question we are often asked is "what kind of dog is she?" We don't know? She was found in a field in Alabama and taken to a high-kill shelter where she was rescued and brought to Maine by Rescue Charlie's Friends in Woolwich. We decided to make a contest out of determining her breed so we sent for her DNA and we're taking donations to enter a guess. Fryeburg Motors will match all donations and the whole pot will be sent to Rescue Charlie's Friends to continue helping our furry friends in need of a home. The winner with the closest guess will win their name prominently displayed on our bulletin board and confidence in their canine knowledge! This contest is just for fun and there's no obligation or pressure to enter. Stop in to meet Portia or just say hi. Portia's happy just to see you and maybe get a friendly belly rub.

**With the delay in getting her results from the lab we've set an end date of July 26, 2026 - the day we brought Portia home. There's plenty of time to get your guess in. The winner will also receive a Fryeburg Motors T-shirt or hoodie custom embroidered with "I guessed Portia's breed" on the sleeve or chest. It's all for fun and a good cause!**

We have a few special customers who make sure we don't lack for home-baked goods. Today, we received this amazing cookie for Christmas and we couldn't be more appreciative. It's almost a shame to eat it! Thank you, Leisa and Wayne!
