The day has come for me to “hang up my keys” as Manager of Rainbow RV Resort.
After so many wonderful years of serving this community, I leave with countless memories and a heart full of gratitude. My life has truly been enriched by the experiences I have had and, most importantly, by the people I have met along the way. The outpouring of good wishes, kind words, cards, and gifts this past week has been overwhelming.
It is amazing to think that someone who first came to Rainbow as a guest 25 years ago would one day be given the opportunity to manage this incredible, multimillion-dollar property. How did I do it? The answer is simple: with the help of my friends! You have made my job so rewarding, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
There is a familiar saying: “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” I have been incredibly fortunate to experience that here at Rainbow.
Although I will be leaving the office this week, I am not leaving the park! I am proud to become an active resident of this wonderful community and look forward to continuing to contribute, participate, and enjoy all that Rainbow has to offer.
I am also thrilled to introduce Rebecca “Becca” Redmond as your new manager. Becca has been with Sun Communities for eight years and has held several leadership positions, including roles in property management and, most recently, District Sales Manager for our Fort Myers properties. After spending time with her, I am confident that she is an excellent choice and will be an outstanding successor.
I cannot thank Karen Thiergartner and her volunteers enough for the wonderful retirement luncheon on Saturday, nor can I adequately express my appreciation to the more than 150 residents who shared cards, gifts, and good wishes. I would also like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Tom and Jan Morton for their tremendous support—and especially for Tom’s expertise—throughout the years.
To my team—Lauren, Bill, Kevin, and Millie—thank you for your dedication, support, and the many ways you contributed to my success. I could not have done it without you.
And finally, to all of you: thank you for allowing me the honor of serving as your manager. My pledge is to continue making positive contributions to our community, to enjoy all that Rainbow has to offer, and to spend time with the very best residents, friends, and neighbors anyone could ask for.
This is not goodbye—it is simply the beginning of a wonderful new chapter!
