SUPREME1, Porsche 911 IMS Bearing Replacement.

When an IMS failure occurs, or more specifically, the ball-bearing or bearing support fails, the intermediate shaft is damaged beyond the point of being serviceable, but moreover, debris from the failure contaminates the entire engine, requiring a complete teardown and rebuild to recover from such a failure. In worst-case scenarios, the cam timing can also be thrown off, causing valve to piston contact, and in some cases, even lead to a failure that requires replacement of the engine. In that case, the engine will not be accepted as a core, requiring the purchase of another core or to pay an ever-increasing core charge on top of the cost of the replacement engine. Aside from the pro-active approach of replacing the IMS bearing prior to such a failure, prevention, and early detection are some of the steps that can be taken to try to minimize the risk of a costly engine failure.

One attempt at extending the life of the original IMS bearing removing the grease seal off the factory intermediate shaft bearings for years to better improve their lubrication and cooling, as is the case with model year 2006 through 2008 engines, as that’s the only preventative measure that can be taken that is cost-effective as the other option is to tear down the engine completely to access the intermediate shaft, for which upgraded IMS bearings are available for installation at this point.

With the model year 1997 through 2005 engines, however, the bearing is indeed accessible. Any IMS bearing replacement is intended to be installed as a pro-active measure in preventative and regular maintenance. Once an engine has suffered a failure, replacement of the intermediate shaft bearing is no longer an option. Installing a replacement IMS bearing in an engine that has already suffered a failure will result in a subsequent failure due to collateral damage, including but not limited to debris contaminating the new bearing.

Professional installation is recommended; SUPREME1 successfully repaired dozens of them, using the appropriate tools, God Bless.

SUPREME1, we would like to share helpful tips.

CORONAVIRUS DISEASE (COVID-19)
PREVENTION
There is currently no vaccine to prevent coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to this virus. However, as a reminder, CDC always recommends everyday preventive actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases, including:

Avoid close contact with people who are sick.

Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.

Stay home when you are sick.

Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.

Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.

Follow CDC’s recommendations for using a facemask.

CDC does not recommend that people who are well wear a facemask to protect themselves from respiratory diseases, including COVID-19.

Facemasks should be used by people who show symptoms of COVID-19 to help prevent the spread of the diseas to others. The use of facemasks is also crucial for health workers and people who are taking care of someone in close settings (at home or in a health care facility).

Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.

If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and water if hands are visibly dirty.

For information about handwashing, see CDC’s Handwashing website
For information specific to healthcare, see CDC’s Hand Hygiene in Healthcare Settings
These are everyday habits that can help prevent the spread of several viruses. CDC does have specific guidance for travelers.

TREATMENT

There is no specific antiviral treatment recommended for COVID-19. People with COVID-19 should receive supportive care to help relieve symptoms. For severe cases, treatment should include care to support vital organ functions.
People who think they may have been exposed to COVID-19 should contact their healthcare provider immediately.
See Interim Guidance for Healthcare Professionals for information on persons under investigation.

SUPREME1
CLOSED FOR VETERANS DAY
Honoring All Those Who Served in the Military

It was first observed on November 11, 1919, as Armistice Day in honor of the first anniversary of the end of World War I, which officially ended on the “eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month” in 1918. In 1926, Congress called for an annual observance of the anniversary, and by 1938, it was an official federal holiday. A few decades later, in 1954, President Dwight D. Eisenhower officially changed the name of the holiday from Armistice Day to Veterans Day as it is currently known today.

Thanks to the Uniform Holiday Act of 1968, the holiday was moved from its November 11 date to a less-defined “fourth Monday in October” so workers could enjoy a long weekend. However, this move didn’t last long. In 1975, President Gerald Ford returned the solemn day to its original November 11 to honor the global historical significance of the day.

While it is important to thank all those who have served or are regularly serving, on Veterans Day, it’s especially important to take an extra moment to show military members gratitude for their sacrifice.

PREPARED, NOT SCARED.
Date: Thu Sep 19, 2019
Author: Daniel Kaniewski, PhD
National Preparedness Month is every September when we focus on preparing ourselves, our families, and our communities for the disasters and emergencies that can happen where we live, work, and visit. This month we encourage everyone to take actions that will make us better prepared to reduce the impact of disasters. The 2019 theme is: “Prepared, Not Scared,” and focuses on teaching children the importance of preparedness.
Over the last two years, emergencies and natural disasters have tested us as a nation. We have responded to unprecedented hurricanes and wildfires as well as flooding, earthquakes, tornadoes, and other unexpected, perilous events. As emergency managers we know that our efforts will be most successful if the public is prepared.
Disasters affect everyone, so it takes everyone to help prepare. This includes making sure our children are prepared. Ask your child’s school and child care providers about how you’ll be reconnected with your children in the event of an evacuation. Talk to your kids about what to do in a disaster. This can be a tricky conversation to navigate but using the resources available on Ready.gov/kids can make it easier to talk through the topic.
Preparedness starts with having an emergency plan. An essential part of this is ensuring you are financially prepared. To start, keep emergency cash at home to have on hand if you need to leave your home quickly. Start an emergency or rainy-day fund to cover unexpected disaster costs that include food, water, hotel, gas, and insurance deductibles; this can help stem the impact of lost income. Sticking to a budget can be hard but saving even a small amount can make the difference during recovery. Also, take steps to protect your personal finances. By collecting, copying, and storing your financial information now, it could help you avoid problems and recover faster after a disaster. Use and share this checklist with friends and loved ones to make sure you have the information and documents you need.
Before a disaster occurs, be sure to check your homeowner’s or renter’s policies to ensure adequate coverage. This includes making sure you have flood insurance, which is typically not covered by homeowner’s insurance. Just an inch of water can cause more than $25,000 of damage to your home.
Another important step is developing a family emergency communications plan, designating an out-of-town person to serve as a contact for all family members to reconnect. Establish a family meeting place that’s familiar and easy to find. And sign up for First Aid and CPR training so that you know what to do if a family member, friend, neighbor or co-worker needs your help. Life-threatening emergencies can happen in the blink of an eye, and emergency responders may be minutes away, when seconds count. You may be able to save a life by taking simple actions immediately.
While we may not know when or where a disaster could strike, taking steps to be prepared can reduce the impacts to you and your family. Go to Ready.gov to learn more.

We Will Never Forget.

"We will never forget" is more than a phrase. It is a testament of who we are as people and as a country.

We will never forget the lives we lost on September 11, 2001. On Patriot Day, we also honor the service members who courageously answered the call to defend our Nation.

SUPREME1
All major and minor work is welcome.🚗

Latest thoughts.
“Our biggest fear is not in expressing the truth but that we will be attacked or discredited because of our truth,” but it will be worth it, so always stick with the truth.

If you are discovering new areas in your life and are concerned about the progress, please remember. “The expert in anything was once a beginner.” – Helen Hayes
So you can:
I think I can! I know I can!

The enemy (satan) attacks the weakest and most vulnerable parts first; then the stronger positions, once weaker ones have been taken. Paul notes the enemy first attacks the Truth, and that cataclysmic warfare has always been waged over what is “truth.”
Remember, the first thing Satan did was to question God’s truth! Without foundation in Truth, one is vulnerable to lies and deception, temptation, pride, oppression, and accusation.

ANTIFREEZE - COOLANT

WHY IS IT CALLED COOLANT IF IT HAS ANTIFREEZE PROPERTIES?
Coolant is the common name; however, the correct name is anti-freeze, anti-boil, corrosion inhibitor. Another critical role this fluid plays is that on the other side of the scale is raises the boiling point of water by 8-10oC depending on the percentage of coolant/ water ratio in your radiator. The different vital role that coolant plays in your cooling system is the anti-corrosion inhibitor stops cast iron blocks from rusting, stops aluminum blocks and heads from corrosion and stops rusty water traveling throughout which could destroy your entire cooling system. It also has a lubricant to help lubricate water pump seals, factory antifreeze highly recommended.

HOW TO CHECK ANTIFREEZE VEHICLE LEVEL:

If you notice a rapid fall in the quantity of this liquid, there is a leak in the system, and we recommend that you go and see your auto repair center quickly.
To check the level of this liquid, your car must be parked on a flat surface. The engine must be "cold" – i.e., it must have been switched off for several hours – so as not to skew the readings and avoid any risk of splashing or burns if you have to open the filling cap.
Where is/ what is coolant in a car? Refer to your user manual to locate the coolant filling reservoir. It is made of transparent plastic (most times) and has 2 "Maximum" and "Minimum" markers. The liquid's level must be between these two markers.

If the level is below the "Minimum" marker, top it up with the coolant recommended in your service manual. Otherwise, you will risk your engine being insufficiently cooled – i.e., it may overheat, requiring you to switch off the engine immediately and resulting in damage to the various parts. If the level is above the "Maximum" marker, some of the coolant in the car will need to be removed with a syringe or suitable pump. Otherwise, the cooling circuit will be over-pressurized, which may result in hot fluid being splashed out while you are using your engine, or you can stop by our facility and one of our staff members can guide-help you to check the antifreeze level at no charge.

SUPREME1, Always be prepared, we are praying for all affected by Dorian.

IF YOU ARE UNDER A HURRICANE WARNING, FIND SAFE SHELTER RIGHT AWAY.

Determine how best to protect yourself from high winds and flooding.
Evacuate if told to do so.
Take refuge in a designated storm shelter, or an interior room for high winds.
Listen for emergency information and alerts.
Only use generators outdoors and away from windows.
Turn Around, Don’t Drown! Do not walk, swim, or drive through floodwaters.

STORM SURGE
Storm surge is water from the ocean that is pushed toward the shore by the force of the winds swirling around a hurricane. Storm surge is fast and can produce extreme coastal and inland flooding. When hurricanes cause storm surge, over 20 feet of water can be built and pushed towards the shore and several miles inland destroying property and endangering lives in its path.

BE INFORMED

Storm surge is historically the leading cause of hurricane-related deaths in the United States.
Water weighs about 1,700 pounds per cubic yard, so battering waves from a surge can quickly demolish buildings and cause massive destruction along the coast.
Storm surge undermines roads and foundations when it erodes material out from underneath them.
Just one inch of water can cause $25,000 of damage to your home. Homeowners and renter’s insurance do not typically cover flood damage.

PREPARE NOW

Know your area’s risk of hurricanes.
Sign up for your community's warning system. The Emergency Alert System (EAS) and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Weather Radio also provide emergency alerts.
If you are at risk for flash flooding, watch for warning signs such as heavy rain.
Practice going to a safe shelter for high winds, such as a FEMA safe room or ICC 500 storm shelter. The next best protection is a small, interior, windowless room in a sturdy building on the lowest level that is not subject to flooding.
Based on your location and community plans, make your plans for evacuation or sheltering in place.
Become familiar with your evacuation zone, the evacuation route, and shelter locations.
Gather needed supplies for at least three days. Keep in mind each person’s specific needs, including medication. Don’t forget the needs of pets.
Keep essential documents in a safe place or create password-protected digital copies.
Protect your property. Declutter drains and gutters. Install check valves in plumbing to prevent backups. Consider hurricane shutters. Review insurance policies

WHEN A HURRICANE IS 6-18 HOURS FROM ARRIVING

Turn on your TV/radio, or check your city/county website every 30 minutes to get the latest weather updates and emergency instructions.
Charge your cell phone now so you will have a full battery in case you lose power.

6 HOURS FROM ARRIVING

If you’re not in an area that is recommended for evacuation, plan to stay at home or where you are and let friends and family know where you are.
Close storm shutters, and stay away from windows. Flying glass from broken windows could injure you.
Turn your refrigerator or freezer to the coldest setting and open only when necessary. If you lose power, food will last longer. Keep a thermometer in the fridge to be able to check the food temperature when the power is restored.
Turn on your TV/radio, or check your city/county website every 30 minutes to get the latest weather updates and emergency instructions.

SURVIVE DURING

If told to evacuate, do so immediately. Do not drive around barricades.
If sheltering during high winds, go to a FEMA safe room, ICC 500 storm shelter, or a small, interior, windowless room or hallway on the lowest floor that is not subject to flooding.
If trapped in a building by flooding, go to the highest level of the building. Do not climb into a closed attic. You may become trapped by rising floodwater.
Listen for current emergency information and instructions.
Use a generator or other gasoline-powered machinery outdoors ONLY and away from windows.
Do not walk, swim, or drive through floodwaters. Turn-Around. Don’t Drown! Just six inches of fast-moving water can knock you down, and one foot of moving water can sweep your vehicle away.
Stay off of bridges over fast-moving water.
