As catalytic converter thefts continue to be an issue, we would like to take a moment to provide some prevention tips:
-Whenever possible, park in a garage (That may mean taking some time to clean yours out).
-Park in well-lit areas at night.
-Engrave your license plate number or vehicle identification number (VIN) on your catalytic converter.
-Secure it to your vehicle using anti-theft devices available for purchase, or have it welded on.
-Park in areas covered by surveillance cameras.
-Paint it with a high-temperature, bright paint.
When law enforcement and local businesses come together to help protect it's residents, it's a great thing! In this case, Midas Clovis will be offering free catalytic converter engraving to those wishing to make it more difficult for criminals to steal and recycle it. They are located at 704 Clovis Ave, on the corner of Clovis Ave/7th St., in Old Town Clovis. This service is part of a free vehicle inspection, available by appointment only.
