A legacy dune buggy project with Freekin' Fuchsia Base and Flake!
We'll let our customer tell the story in his own words!:
"My Dad "Big Jerry" Quinlisk, brother Brian and I built the dune buggy in the early 70's. The chassis is a 1962 VW bug.
We drove it in parades for many years. As we got older and started having families of our own the dune buggy didn't leave the garage. Big Jerry passed away and I wanted to restore the buggy to its former glory. Last summer, my two sons (Aidan and Cuchulainn) not misspelled) and buddy Vernon Pape. undertook the project of restoration. Every inch, nut and bolt have been restored. We wanted to keep the original color "freekin' fuchsia". Roth Metal Flake had the color for us. My buddy paint master Ernie Gagnor made the color pop!
We finished the restoration March 2026. It was an absolute joy to have the opportunity to restore the dune buggy with my boys, that I built with my Dad. We have had it in a parade and 2 car shows so far. It is definitely smiles per mile. Thank you for keeping the metal flake look alive and well!"
