🙏 THANKS to Congressmember Khanna for your continued partnership on key projects in our City of Fremont, CA.
Rep. Ro Khanna secured over $24 Million in Community Project Funding for CA-17 in the Omnibus spending bill that that passed the House late last week.
Of the funding, three projects were in the City of Fremont
1. $1,500,000 for City of Fremont, CA Government’s Commercial District Wi-Fi Access Expansion Project
This will expand broadband by strategically deploying community Wi-Fi zones in Fremont’s six commercial district plazas.
2.. $1,000,000 for East Bay Community Energy’s Fremont Municipal Critical Facility Resilience Program
Proud to represent our city on green initiatives and EBCE. This will allow our city better infrastructure planning to ensure that critical services are resilient to grid outages and increase the use of renewable, local energy sources that will also create a demand for good-paying green jobs.
3. $1,000,000 for the Construction Trades Workforce Initiative’s Establishing Union Construction Pre-Apprenticeship Pathways and Programs to work with the Fremont Unified School District to expand vocational training and boost employment placement in the unionized construction trades.
Having represented as a former Fremont Unified school board trustee serving also on Mission Valley ROP and as a President for National League of Cities Mayors Task Force on Education, I diligently work to ensure that our construction workforce pipeline is being developed and delivered locally within our city.
