As our annual car show creeps up rather quickly, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on why we go to the effort of putting it on and why it means so much to us all. Most know that this all started with my father-in-law Randy and a dream he had. HIs love of cars is unmatched, and he wanted to bring friends and family together to share in this passion in a relaxed "family reunion" style if you will. Every year this has gotten bigger (weather permitting years) and we try to improve a little in making it go smoother. As most of you know Randy was diagnosed with ALS last fall and his health is preventing him from making car shows and promoting it himself. This is a bittersweet car show for us all but I am asking you to mark the date in your calendar and stop by whether you have a car or not and say hello! I will be making 50lbs of pulled pork, crackpot chicken and hot dogs. We usually have 5 or 6 tables of passing dishes that fill up by our car show family and it's always appreciated. Randy had a request this year for ice cream that he personally bought and wants to share with everyone! He has made up dash plaques for the first 85 cars. We have said for years we need a t-shirt and this year I finally made one up. We will have a few for car show but will take orders at car show for those that would like to order. You can stop at shop and order also beforehand; they will be $20.00.
I would love to find out just how many cars we can fit on the property! 100? 125? 150!? Bottom line is if you know Randy, PLEASE come out and say hello, share a memory, have a laugh and eat some good food if we do say so ourselves. Randy has instilled in me a love for our "Car" family and this community, and I look forward to seeing everyone every year despite running around like a crazy person!
P.S. THIS IS PUT ON BY US ALONE. NO VENDORS ALLOWED SO PLEASE DO NOT INQUIRE.
