Generally, propping windshield wipers up in the winter is not recommended as it can cause more harm than good. It can stress the tension spring, potentially bending the wiper arm or causing it to crack the windshield if blown down by strong winds. Additionally, ice forming around the wiper in the up position can be worse than if it formed in the down position.

While it's a common practice, propping up windshield wipers in the winter can be detrimental. The tension spring that holds the wiper against the windshield can be damaged by being held in the extended position. Strong winds could also bend the wiper arm or cause it to snap back down, potentially cracking the windshield. Furthermore, if ice forms around the wiper while it's propped up, it can be more difficult to remove than if the wiper was in its normal position

We are particularly proud of this one due to the complex repair processes that need to be followed to obtain a proper repair. Tesla, as well as all other fully electric vehicles, have a whole new set of rules for repairing them.
