This is why factory sprayed bedliners are no good. They do not sand them for prep at the factory but instead use a chemical etch. As you can see prep work is very important and shouldn’t be rushed. This piece was taken off in less than a minute. If you tried to get one of our bedliners off you would be there all day scraping, chiseling, and completely hating your job the whole time, waiting for the nightmare to end. If you want a bedliner done right come and see us!

We had to redo some bedliner on a service truck where the factory applied bedliner did not hold up. Between stripping, repriming, coating and fixing loose edges we certainly had our work cut out for us as there was a lot of things already on the truck and in the way to work around. As always though we got it handled!

New metal patches were put in and fiberglass filler to not only smooth transitions but waterproof as well. Finished off with regular body filler and then an epoxy bedliner primer was applied over the top. Pics don’t show but after all of this the seam sealer was cleaned out and rust taken care of underneath that and a rust converter was applied then bedlined. Underneath and cross members were treated and rustproofed as well. Lots of hours in these jobs…

Another bed in for a major overhaul. These Toyota boxes suffered from a poor job of seam sealing underneath from the factory that helps cause these issues and then plastic bedliners don’t help either.
