I have been working on a logo for way to long for Alternative Measuring Solutions. I need honest opinions on this one (You won't hurt my feelings). I am open to criticism. Please let me know what y'all think.

It's official. I have successfully completed Polyworks training. It is a pretty cool Cmm and Faro Arm software.

I thought I would post a CMM video of a program I made. The CMM in this video is my Mitutoyo 12/12/10. X and Y travel is 47" and 39" in the Z axis. This part is pretty big if I had to put it at an angle. In this program, I am using a scanning Module from renishaw that utilizes touch probe measuring on most of the part, but when you see it measruring tight tolerance holes like the press fit dowel pin holes, I actually programmed the CMM to scan the holes. Instead of taking 5 or 7 points in a hole, scanning I can adjust the pitch to .005" which means in scanning the hole, I'm telling it to take a point every .005" until it goes the 360 degrees around the hole. So I'm taking like 100 points for higher accuracy.

The complete full scan. From here, I could take measurements off of this scan if it was a First Article. Or, I could merge this to a step, Iges, or solidworks and many other types models and once their merged I can put a color chart to it, so depending on the color of the surfaces of the scan, you match it up the the color chart th5 says what color is how far off nominal. So if s diameter is +/- .005 I can make anything that shows red to be over or under .005. Green to show like .002" off nominal, and blue would be. O01" from nominal. However you would want it. I will do a follow up video showing that. If your company could use data like this from one or more of your components. I can offer this service in many ways. Today I am scanning what is called a Ni**le for a company I have been working with in China that makes graphite electrodes for steel recycling industry. This part is used to connect two electrodes on either end, and is used in an Arch Furnace. They fill up the furnace with scrap steel from like the auto industry and when the electrodes arch to the steel, the sound is like standing next to a lightning bolt landing right next to you. The concrete is 4 feet thick and still shakes the ground. But it only takes a short while and you have melted steel. Ready to be recycled into billets. I am using the new Faro Arm to make them a program so that when they are in production. They can just scan a ni**le and the program will merge the scan to the model which is nominal and will give them a rainbow picture that will show different colors meaning how far off nominal features are. Green meaning closer to nominal, and red meaning close to or out of tolerance.

New measuring Device I get the pleasure of learning. I can now come to my customers facilities with this portable arm and measure parts that are in machines, scan with a laser to reverse engineer and make CAD models. It is the most accurate Arm on the market with about 4 feet of travel. I have my own business now. I am the CEO, President, Customer Service Manager, Quality Manager, Accountant, Inspector and grunt. Lol I offer Subcontract Inspections, Capability studies, Gage R&R, Calibration Services, Reverse Engineering, Quality Control Consulting, ISO Documentation and many other services. I have 2 CMM's with Scanning capabilities with up to 47" travel in X & Y and over 39" in Z. I have a temperature controlled state of the art inspection facility for the most accurate measurements. My business is Called Alternative Measuring Solutions (AMS). My friends and family probably don't need much precision measuring for manufacturing, but if you run into someone who does, let them know about AMS.

She is up and running! Mitutoyo Crysta-Apex 12/12/10. Right now she is running MCOSMOS/CAT1000SP/MICAT Planner. Full scanning capability helps with your profile callouts, reverse engineering, full graphic surfacing. She has a 8 probe tree heated probe changing rack that keep all the scanning modules at the same temperature for better improved accuracy during probe changes. Working travel is X47" x Y 47" x Z39".
She is ready at Alternative Measuring Solutions. Soon she will also be running Polyworks software to match the new Faro Arm that just came in.

Brown & Sharpe Gage2000 Manual CMM running a feature recognition software called Reflex. Super user friendly and super accurate little measuring machine. Great for prototypes, single run parts, or for a quick measurement of a feature. Travel for this little guy is X18"
Y20" and Z16"
